Someone here suggested that routine of bringing along a sling bag or light shoulder bag for day-to-day use in a city. Good advice.

I wish i a shoulder bag wile i was there. would have been much easier to get through crowds and stuff. People kept bumping into my backpack and stuff, and because i'm already a big guy, i often find myself having to walk sideways through crows so i don't bump people, but with the backpack on, i couldn't do that. A side bag also sits nicely on your lap in the subways and such where a backpack you're pretty much left with on the floor between your feet.

Camera gear does not get packed on a plane, so with that and a older laptop it gets stinking heavy. I will never again use the shoulder strap on a hike, the TT backpack strap is perfect. A snap holds the handles on top of the bag and two clips attach to d rings on the bottom of the bag.
The two TT bags I have are the UD 50 V1 and UD 60 V2

Finally, some decent news about the 5DMKIII from CR:
This is one prototype, and two others exist. Specifications 32mp ISO 100-25600 (L1, H1, H2, H3) DIGIC V 4.2fps 19point AF CF Card Slightly larger LCD (new ratio) New autofocus while filming, performance unknown. All the standard video stuff. RAW video still unknown This is apparently coming before any 1Ds replacement.

and is that 25,600ISO before H1,H2,H3? cause if so, that's pretty nuts! No idea what i'd do with 32MP maybe start shooting billboards because that's 2 Megapixels bigger then some of the medium format cameras available right now.... |

So what you are saying with the 19 point AF is that it will do as well as the 7D??
I never followed the AF, all I know is that the 7D was better than the 5D AF

I would expect it to perform the same or better. If it doesn't, i would be horribly disappointed. |

Thank you for that tidbit. Now to put some money between the sheets and get them to have babies.

it will be a very nice camera, but i'm not sure if it will be enough for someone who already has a 5D2 to upgrade to the newer version. time will tell. I'm pretty satisfied with the handling of the 5DII currently. Once my shutter count gets a bit higher and such, then i'll be looking at the 5D3 unless something truly exceptional comes out of this.

32mp is pretty ridiculous, so we'll see how it performs, I'm worried it will have soft images... Compact Flash cards are going to have to get a lot bigger and a lot cheaper to satisfy peoples needs soon.

yeah, i'll be curious to see what the next version is, and if they will get the prices closer to that of the 5D. If they get it to about 21-24mp and have an awesome AF system, i wouldn't be surprised if you see people getting confused about which camera to buy times will tell, it's almost time for an epic battle of the camera gods! |
