Got rid of the 335i and got a 99' M coupe last fall.. Two completely different cars.. The M puts a grin on my face every time I take it out

Bought my 2001 z3M roadster for the engine, now it's sitting in my garage living the life of a queen, taken out on nice days and for shows.still love revving it up and knowing that I have the same engine as a e46 m3 under the hood of a car that's half it's size.

This is the car that made me love BMW in the first place.
Great post. Thanks!

Last year while visiting close friends up in Toronto; a good Canadian snow storm happened. Looking out the window, I see this. Brought back good memories, but I was also thinking "What the hell you thinking" Of course he got stuck, getting dressed to go help, he opens the door and walked away. 10 minutes later a bunch of his friends come push the car out.

Very cool to see this on the front page. The S54 M Coupe is my favorite BMW. Still has the looks. Still want!

In May I received delivery of an Estoril Blue M235i. Her maiden voyage was on a wine tasting weekend in the foothills around Paso Robles, Ca. For those that don't know, these quiet, winding, hilly roads are filled with trees that throw dappled sunlight on the asphalt and I'm convinced were built purely for sports car enthusiasts to "exercise" their steeds.
One of our friends on the trip found out about my new EB M235i and decided to bring his EB "Clown shoe" (M Coupe) that's been modified a bit and gets tracked pretty regularly. Needless to say we played tag all over those foothill roads. His N/A and high revs allows him to wail on me in the flats and downhill sections, but my freight train torque advantage showed him my dust in the uphill jaunts. I took a spin in his cherry ride and of course it felt world's different, both due to the era and purpose the cars were built for. I still love how you can touch the rear tire with your hand when sitting with the door open. |

That was certainly a, love it or hate it, type of car upon its origin. But either way, you just knew it would be a classic due to it's, well, interesting styling. It wasn't necessarily considered bold, even by standards of yesteryear, it was just one of those "special" cars. And those who did not, or had not driven one, were left with that thought that there must be something truly unique about driving such a subjectively, peculiar, looking sports car.

Love this car.
My father had 2 iterations of the roadster - 1st a 99', now a 2002 with the upgraded engine. While I wish they would have figured a way to put a 6MT in there, man do I love driving that car. My father swears he will never get rid of his.

Any way, I still miss my E36/8. It kept me from buying the E86 or a Cayman and now with a kid on the way, BMW has really stopped building anything I'd want. |

My first bimmer was a 98 m roadster. Loved that car but only got it because I wanted a convertible and then I saw an m coupe and vowed I would have one. those motors were definitely under rated at 240hp. Mine dynoed at 225 hp stock!
Then many years later I found a used 01 m coupe. Not perfect but was a daily driver which is what I had wanted but the last few years have put very little miles on it. Have owned it for over 7 years and everytime I think of selling it I drive it and it ends. I loved it so much had to put 5K in maintenance into it this year! Tires had dry rot from so infrequent driving. My dream color was LSB but they are so rare not sure I will ever find one for sale. Now it sits as Friday car when it is nice, e90 M3 is the daily now.

Nice blast from the past! When we bought our Z4M coupe, I was strongly considering an S53 Z3M coupe, but my wife fell in love with the Z4M coupe styling. Very cool car.

This guy's voice sounds like a fucking computer. It makes an otherwise interesting piece nearly unwatchable.
