Grand Champions. I had EVERY SINGLE ONE. Every time we went to WAL*MART, my Mommy bought me a new one. They came in every breed, every color, every discipline. I must have had 60 different toy horses. I used to love playing with these with my next door neighbor. We'd spend hours using our imaginations and naming all the horses and giving them personalities. I miss those days.

Basketball cards collecting through the 90's! Enough that I still buy sell trade local, at events, and on EBay now that I can afford. I do it for nostalgia and have made $$ and met lots of interesting people.

I used the shit out of all the toys I had. I still have some of them but they are pretty beat up. Probably not worth much but I will pass them down. I also have my original 1986 Beastie Boys Licensed to Ill tape that I listened to about a million times. But I'm keeping that one

I have a slew of cards too and I know some are worth probably hundreds. But it's just too time consuming to research. It doesnt help that all mine are sorted by team and not by actual brand and series.

I collected baseball cards, pogs , MTG old school cards which I was informed were the Alpha & Beta series, some odd star wars shit and autographed baseballs.

One day I'll eventually get everything organized and appraised. I'll eventually get the MTG cards appraised but according to ebay they are worth $$$
I hear you and it would take literally days to figure out.... mine are player organized... and I have no idea what the difference is between VG VG+ VG- etc and what is what. I have heard of that guide and may check it out. Thanks. I wish there was someone who could just look at it and say, 135,000$ or M4GTS... you pick

Thanks bro...

Toenail clippings.

Though I'd never consider selling, I wonder if I should get them appraised for insurance purpose.

I wouldnt worry about grading/appeasing until you find that magical card.

Organizing by player would make it a whole lot easier. Probably pick out the guys that you know actually mattered or any hall of famers and run it through Beckett. I'm sure you have something in there worth a couple hundred. Rookie cards for any legit player seem to catch a lot of attention too

That's the thing... I have no real idea either. A lot of those sports memorabilia and card shops want to absolutely screw you over. Ebay or auctions sites I guess alright but I really think it takes that one special person who collects say nothing but Nolan Ryan stuff to really pay off.

I think it's a hard thing to really make money off. The demand just has to be there. So it's usually wayyyyy down the road when it's a hall of famer that just passed or something like Pete Rose finally gets forgiven and inducted then dies the next day. lol

I know since Pokemon Go came out those first edition foil cards have been selling like crazy online. Right now the demand is there but it'll eventually bottom out.

Went to a sports show a few years ago at a convention center and many vendors told me that kids don't even collect cards anymore and that guys much older than us are the real collectors. hence the hobby was fading in a way that is kind of sad. As kids, baseball cards were a blast.
