I didn't trade from age 13 to 18.. I worked at walmart to make money. My dad also thought that I should get a job to see how shitty it is making $6.25 an hour and working under people so that I would want to go to college.. Rain For Rent last summer was another one of those shitty jobs to motivate me.. Even if I was making 7-10% at the time I would still get a job so that I wouldn't have to take spending money out of my account. Like I said before, working is also something to do during the day while everyone else is at their job or doing something. -Nathan

I worked at a landscaping nursery for a summer (and on weekends after school). It was an herb nursery - 25 different kinds of thyme, etc, with a retail shop also.
Mostly indoors, low key, a little retail work. Good people, family business. Upscale neighborhood, good tips. |

I'll have to see if there are any nice looking nurseries around here. Well, not exciting or anything, but I think it would be pretty relaxing. -Nathan

Walmart starts the lowest paid employees at $7.50 an hour... Anyway, I worked construction as well, good people that show you what you don't want to grow up to be. Great inspiration. Doesn't matter how boring, if you could earn 7-10% you would not need to be working at a job like the ones you are talking about. I am going to go ahead and call bs again on the whole X% crap you were talking. Hey, there are a few investment firms that would probably just love you to work for their hedge portfolio team...

If I were you I'd think about your future. If you have any idea what it is you want to do long term see if you can do something, anything, in that field or area. It would be great experience for the future and it would reconfirm weather you want to do it or not. Don't just throw away a good summer on an easy job.
