ok ok ok so I just saw the FaceID is a "3d" scan. Still gimmick feature IMO. I still prefer fingerprint or old fashion pin. The time of innovation with Apple and their phones has come and gone. I'm trying to talk myself into the iPhone X now just based off the live blogs but am having a hard time. Pretty cut throat market now but Apple has still yet to wow me as of right now. My wife calls the iPhone the old people phone. Since basically only senior citizens seem to use it and all the youngins jumped ship after Jobs died |

Oh, shit! I was the senior citizen when I had my flip phone, and kids had to borrow at the end of soccer practice to call their ride. I get updated to a flat 6, and now I'm STILL a senior citizen. I guess if the boot fits. . .

- They revolutionized the smartphone industry (which Samsung copied)
- They revolutionized the tablet market - They revolutionized the smart watch market - They build they own mobile processors which consistently outperform every other smartphone on the market. - Their walled garden of software and apps are most secure OS on a smartphone. Android is a complete joke when it comes to security. - Touch ID, Live Photo. Shall I keep going? You may not like Apple, but you have blind hatred if you don't see the facts.

My take on this. Brother and I have been waiting for this. He will probably get it since he is in need of a new phone. For me, I probably won't upgrade my 6S. I don't like how the back looks. The features, IMO, are a bit gimmicky.
I also don't like the fact that reports some months ago that Apple was having supply issues and the new iPhones won't ship until November or later. Tim Cook came out and said that it wasn't true and that the iPhones will be available September. So Apple went ahead and announced the phones. Only thing is that people can't order until end of October for shipments in November. Kind of a slick willy deal if you ask me. |

As a 7 Plus user, would love a smaller footprint with similar sized screen. So assuming the 256 version is less than eleventy billion, will buy.

LOL. Good one.
Don’t worry mate, my household has 4 iPhones, 4 iPads, 2 Mac pro’s, a MacBook Pro and an Apple TV. We’ve bet the farm on Apple, and the experience is great. But the technology in the iPhones has always been yesterday’s. They take existing ideas, and repackage it with a nicer User Interface. This is why Android users all shake their heads whenever there is a new announcement. You should try being in my office. All the Samsung S8 users screaming at their phones because it isn’t recognising their face, or “OK Google” isn’t waking it up. I would have loved to see a home button on the side, like the Sony Xperia with integrated finger print. That thing is slick. |

Count me in for an 8. No interest in moving up to the X for the following reasons:
- $400 more. - OLED is cool and all but I don't think it's worth the extra cash. - I'm skeptical of the facial recognition and think it sounds like a pain in the ass. - Edge to edge screen is awesome but I drop my phone a lot. I need a case that protects around the edges, thus negating this feature. |

if you know why they did what they did, why call them idiots? i think it was a reasonable decision to get rid of the home button in order to increase the screen size without increasing the size of the entire phone. But its not like im not skeptical about how well the 3D facial recognition technology will perform either. (especially in situations where you don't have optimal lighting)
