I passed on getting a curve in anticipation of the Bold coming out. The IT director at work is telling me that our carrier will have it available in a few weeks. BB is definitely the winner for corporate users.

My company was going to build some apps for the iPhone but realized that an application has to quit when a call is initiated. That eliminates a whole class of apps a BB can do.

Blackberry was not compatible with our company network, so I went with the Moto Q. I have been very pleased with it for email, messaging, viewing PDF, Word, Excel files, etc. I would get another one.

BB is to large IMO. The iphone has now entered the business market and I think the BB is in for a big fight to keep market share. They should take a lesson from Palm and get the software updated. The BB is a fine devise but lack a polish on the software. Apple is very good at slowly tearing down competitors. BB is in a great position to make the next great devise provided they can do it before Mr. Jobs and the Apple wreaking crew get the final touches on the iphone.

BB software is the MOST polished one out there -- what the heck are you talking about???
I see Apple glitches the day they released, not with the BB.

As for size -- Blod is smaller and lighter than iPhone and lighter than IP and 88xx...

RIM profits doubled over and over...where do you get the info from???

Bold will use OS 4.6. This alone shows you that it will NOT be a totally new OS. 4.6 will also eventually become available for 88xx/83xx devices.

I am running 4.5 (switched from 4.2) on my Curve and I am far from impressed. Yes, SMS/Mail/Address book look a little different, web browser is better, little things here and there... But this is the same exact shit with the different packaging..

The iPhone is very pretty, but you can't even copy / paste with the piece of shit.

Sorry, but this is not true. Apps DO NOT quit when calls come in.
How do i know? I work for a mobile company that develops software for cell phones, including BB and iPhone.

Echo does not seem to be happening to everyone, so it may be combination of devices. I have Parrot in my car, will report more on this issue when my iPhone comes next week.

Charging issue also seems to be mostly happening to people with regular Cigarette lighter adapters, usually knock off brands. Probably due to cheap parts and thin wires. The same thing used to happen with my ex-gf's Razr. She bought a cheap car charger which did not charge the phone at all. First time was not enough, she went and bought another cheap one at the swap meet of all places! When that one did not work, I got her a nice one and it works like a charm.

Anyway, i have 6FL, so there shouldn't be any problems charging it.

I have nothing in my car other than the phone. Oh, I guess and a radar, but I don't see that being the cause.

Oh, and 6FL doesn't charge for me. Though the more I say that, the more I question it. I'm pretty sure I tested it and it said charging wasn't supported, but I'll have to try again to make sure.

I'm waiting to see how Bold compares to 3G iPhone. I picked up a curve new for $25, so I'm using that until I see how it unfolds. I have a feeling the iPhone will beat the Bold.

Excellent - you want a job?

So you can create an app that you can use during a call with access to the Internet through an RPC? Good news for call control apps.
