do you mean you started your left turn too early and crossed the lines rather than going straight until the lines stopped at the crosswalk?

My mom, while stationary in traffic, was rear ended by a girl traveling 60 miles an hour. It seriously injured my mother, but I am not angry at the girl because she was young and it was a mistake.

A dichotomous "all or nothing" approach to the situation is inappropriate, driving as a real world exercise involves mistakes and misjudgements, and I would argue that not a single person here has never broken a traffic law.

When we are caught making a mistake, many of us share that experience as a way of dealing with it. He understood he was wrong, and he wasn't "bragging" how he got a way with it, or that the cop was singling him out or any of the other foolishness some posters express.

Just because you have the right to express your opinion, doesn't mean you have the obligation too.

Yes! I may not have explained it correctly, but yea I started the left turn too early and I meant to say I should have waited until it was 'clear' to turn.

I'm still not sure I understand what breaking the lines is. If it is what I'm thinking I had no idea that you could actually get pulled over for that. I've never heard the term "breaking the lines" ever before.

What would this have to do with a red light?

I'm with you, bro. I still don't have a clue what "breaking the lines" means.

It should read, "you don't have a right to be angry, right?"

Sorry, sometimes I can't resist. I'm just trying to help

here, apparently some of you need a visual aid...

I crossed into the set of double lines, meaning I was within them, before the designated opening to make a left turn. You're not supposed to drive on or over it...

Where's the light, and what does that have to do with missing the light?

I just found out the amount of the ticket..it's gonna be $186 plus a non-refundable $10 processing fee, and 8-hours of traffic school, which he said I had the option of doing online (how generous of him).

Don't know where the hell he got the $120 quote when I asked him about it that day...shoot, why not just make it $200.
