I use it mostly to deposit checks from 2 clients that don’t pay via ACH into my business account, as well as misc. checks for our personal account. My bank (SunTrust) raised their mobile banking deposit limit due to COVID and I hope they leave it where it is now rather than lowering it again because it saves me trips to the bank. Of course I keep thinking about switching banks so maybe it won’t matter.

Have it but rarely use it.

I believe in having relationships with bankers so I actually go in, have coffee and chat with all of the managers and tellers. I bank at two regional banks, one national bank and one credit union. My parents taught this to me when I young and it's a habit I've taught to my daughter. Know thy bankers. Lol!!

A good thing. I handle most of my banking at an investment firm as the cash in my account earns more there than at my local bank and I get all the checking and credit needs fulfilled there. I do maintain a local relationship as we have a couple safe deposit boxes for jewelry and other valuables that are best not kept in the house and for any potential banking needs but I find little need for that.

I've started using Zelle as well this looks like the next thing for sending and receiving money right away as it's endorsed by all the major banks. It's better than Venmo as you get the money right away, faster than ACH or mobile check deposit. It's likely already integrated in your mobile banking app.

Yes of course... I deposited a $15k check no issue like this. Only go to the bank strictly for large cash withdrawals or deposits... my branch isnt even within 30 milea of me.

I use mobile check deposit and love it.

Does anyone remember receiving, or handing out, or both, live paper paychecks every two weeks? I do.

Yeah that was ridiculous even when I had direct deposit they would still give us paper pay stubs. It was only in the last 10 years or so the paystubs are electronic on the company hr site.

Must be nice banks. The one time I went into the branch to deposit a check they fucked it up and lost my money. Went to another bank to try to get a mortgage, waited like 20 min to see someone just to have them tell me to go apply online.

Same here.

I can go into mine at anytime and the manager will grab me before I can get signed in.

When I took my daughter to help her buy her first car so that she could start building credit, I asked the loan officer about the paperwork and where I would sign at.

She looked at me and said....."your accounts are categorized differently" and there is no need for your signature as she is your daughter. Now I don't know what she meant but I used it to my advantage.

When she walked off, my daughter look at me in bewilderment and I told her that's why it's important to have excellent credit and a good relationship with your Credit Union and their people.

Nicely done!

The experience you gave your daughter is identical to the one my mother gave me with regard to banking.

They were purchasing ing an investment property when I was 15 and had just started driving. She picked up the phone and called "Diane" at the bank and told her she need the loan for a property purchase and she was sending me to pick up the check...right around 30K if I remember correctly. When she hung up the phone, I was told to go there to pick it up and bring it back. Upon arrival, Ms. Diane handed me the check in an envelope, asked me to tell my mother to come in whenever she had time to sign papers and told me have a good day.

Ms. Diane was our banker until she retired after the evil Chase bought everything. My first credit cards, first investments and major financial transactions were all done by Ms. Diane.

Lesson learned.

Been banking with Schwab for years so no local bank, only electronic deposits, the pay ATM fees worldwide so I can use any ATM in the world for free. I spend about 40% of my time in SE Asia so it is extremely helpful to just be able to use the ATM for local cash and not worry about it costing anything. I get no money changed before I go. They also give me free checks and I think some minuscule amount of interest (zero fees). Think the local bank branch is dying. I have no interest in spending time in line, hanging out at the bank or having coffee with random bank employees and don't believe I have been in a bank in years.

I have a mortgage on our house with a local bank but recently wanted to take out a HELOC to purchase an investment property and got a better rate with a random local company, my relationship didn't matter. If I owned a business I might feel differently.

Our credit union actually has a well-stocked free coffee bar in the center of the lobby for members. They also offer free notary services for members.....

So, does your ex work at your bank too??? I still get all the perks of being an employee, even though she has divorced herself from my account as well as my self.

I notice that if she isn't there and I walk up to the line, I get treated differently than if I see her and go give a hug first, THEN get in line.

Despite having electronic banking at my disposal, I still get paper checks and still write them. Electronic deposit is even faster than depositing a check at a teller (at least for my bank)

Sure a check is an archaic banking form but so is paper currency and coins and I still use those too? Not many gumball machines take Apple Pay.

You ALWAYS go to far!!! You don't have to marry the cute teller to get good service!!! Did she take your stuff out of the account once she divorced you? If she did, I still need a full accounting!!!!

I'm the Chief of Stuff and you're ruining my books!!!

Took no stuff, even continued to pay for the Jeep that I bought for her birthday, at least a year after separation. She took the Mercury station wagon, she didn't think the Jeep would be appropriate for her new baby (no, not mine). Left all the stuff in the apartment. I still have the kitchen table.
