Nespresso is good but both of mine broke within 1 yr, never again, buy a stainless steel dual wall French press......amazing.

If you like a good coffee, a Delonghi automatic machine is the cheapest I would get. Had a Krupp machine and it sucked when it wore out. The Delonghi machine is quite simple, and reliable. It does the bean grinding and milk frothing. It is not perfect but for the price I don’t think you could go wrong.

Also good quality beans will make your coffee, the machine just makes it easy to consistently get the taste you like. Whatever machine you get you will have to experiment a little.

I've been using Saeco Aroma for a long time, just bought Baratza grinder few days ago as well

Interesting...I became tired of the hassle involved with grinding and moved to Keureg (sp?).

After the novelty wears off all forms involve trade offs in terms of time and convenience.

Grind-n-brew was the worst because it will jolt you awake on the weekends when you might want to sleep in.

I have a $30 Mr. Coffe pot.......his name is Chester.....that's right.....Chester Coffeepot. Chester makes great coffee.

I had a keurig. That thing was garbage. I tried all sorts of K-cups and the only one to stick with me was the dunkin donuts mocha coconut. On occasion I still buy the cups, even though I've thrown the keurig out, and cut open the cups and mix the grounds with my dark roast in Chester. Quite tasty.

I used to work for Italians and they hooked me on the espresso. We had espresso machines in every department but I've never pulled the trigger on grinding and whatnot for my own. Chester is my man, I have no complaints or need for anything additional. There is something to be said about simplicity....although I'm not sure what it is, I'm open to suggestions.

I actually prefer the manual process, but then again I haven't tried fully automatic grind and brew espresso machines. I think those cost shit lots of money. Ive been using Saeco for past 7 years I think. They recently sent me a brand new model for free as well ))

I’ll use a Keurig or French Press with an electric frother from CBTL I got at Target (pronounced Tarjay) with my pinkie up.

Makes great latte’s etc. I really want a good expresso machine, especially after coming back from Italy but hate the cleanup after making expresso.

I have Breville Oracle Touch machine. I would save some money and get a decent semi-automatic machine ($2,500).
This Is probably the best machine in the 3-4k range - and I used/had Jura, Gaggia full automatics before.

The $400 or so machine I listed above has tons of online youtube videos to get the coffee you want.

I use a dark roast (Kicking Horse 454 horsepower beans), grind at 8, double shot, hold the pressure button manually for 10 seconds and i get a dark, strong coffee with excellent crema (which is where the taste is). From there i will add a shot of milk, use the machine to heat and froth it and i essentially make a flat white.

It's damn near perfect coffee with a low cost and low maintenance machine that looks great and doesn't take up a heap of space.

Buy it.

Last I checked the least-expensive SCAA Certified coffee brewer was the Bonavita BV1900TS. Combine with a proper burr grinder like a Baratza Encore and you'll have a true quality setup below your $300 budget.

Personally I use a Technivorm Moccamaster KBT 79112 brewer and a Baratza Virtuoso grinder to prep my preferred beans... Kicking Horse Coffee's "Kick Ass" roast.

Well I don't know about all those expensive grinders and espresso makers, I drank plenty of espresso in France and Italy and my current setup works for me. It's the cheap Saeco Poemia (had Aroma before) + Baratza Encore grinder which I just bought. We used to buy ground coffee, now we grind and it's hassle free + taste is better.
Grinding just never crossed my mind until wife said she want to buy beans now.I thought grinders are like $20 bucks (that's what I had in 1980s) but then I learned that I need burr grinder and bought that Encore which I really like now.

you guys have alotta time on your hands or something... I have had my Keurig for about 6 years, bought the most expensive one they had in the store, and it still works great. Fast, easy, no clean up. Just have to buy the good K-cups.
