Wow they ruined that house! Plus I'm not sure there's any going back with painted brick/stone at least not easily. If it was just regular siding or what not you could just paint it whatever color you like, but you ain't getting that brick back.

This is a textbook cases of location, location, location, except the "location" is a deterrent to most folks. No big cities, no decent airport nearby, no decent shopping, very little recreation, no fancy restaurants, etc, etc. On the plus side, there is no traffic to speak of, very little crime, and a low cost of living. It's a definite trade-off. There are times I hate living here, but then we travel to a city or back to New England and I get that "lemming panic" feeling because of the crowds and traffic. We've gotten used to the elbow room and relatively quiet surroundings. Here's a recent mid-level McMansion sale in the area. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/3...80646951_zpid/

We did a black and white (and grey stone) exterior on our recent build. I agree that black accent looks better than black as the primary color.
And check out this house I found the other day that's for sale in the Denver area right now! https://www.redfin.com/CO/Denver/265.../home/34177269 Now THAT'S how you overdo it!!

The two above work because house style and environment. Second one is borderline for me but I do like the first one.

That looks nice. Tastefully done. I wish I could find river stones that clean. We just had a bunch put down to fill in areas where we didn't want plants or grass. But the stones were covered in mud and silt. Even after a few good rain days, they're still dirty. It's going to take some time to get them clean. The quarry was the only one in the area with stones the size we wanted, though.

The Numbers Look great too, I wanted some larger ones like that for a stone I put out in my garden for numbering the house. Ended up with ones that were only 5" and did not get the same effect.
