Just wanted to check if anyone has noticed that the centre console is the exact same one used on left-hand vehicles?

Left-hand version:

AU version (Right-hand):

The armrest/cubby cover opens towards the passenger seat also. In Germany they have left-hand drive vehicles so I'm assuming it was designed for left-hand and I'm not sure how I feel about it not being flipped for right-hand vehicles.

Would be the same issue for the below countries that are right hand drive:
UK, Indonesia, Thailand, South Africa, Singapore, New Zealand, Malta, Malaysia, Kenya, Japan, Jamaica, Isle of Man, Ireland, India, Hong Kong, Cyprus, Channel Islands, Caribbean Islands, Pakistan, Samoa and a few others.

Interesting that they only flipped some things, though I'm assuming it's only on cheaper items like the cigarette lighter socket and the USB-C ports.

At least the support piece for the console on RHD models is flipped over to the passenger side....

A month passed since my car went into production and I didn't get an update so I called my SC. My car has finished production but still hasn't been assigned a ship

I was told it has a huge shipping backlog out of German ports and its taking much longer now to get assigned a ship and loaded onto it. Hopefully not too long now cause I know it also has delays getting into Australian ports also.

Been assigned a ship and loaded on at Bremerhaven.

I was also able to check my build sheet and I only have one deletion:
962 - Number Plate Holder Front, Deletion

Most annoying floor I picked up when test driving an ICE model.
They have not mirrored the floating armrest for RHD configuration at all.

They have moved the support under the arm rest but not the hinge, oh and not US cup holders. Every penny counts for those BMW profits.

Huge price increase on the X1's in Aus recently, especially the 18i's.

I'm not even sure why BMW puts a temporary spare tire for X1 in the US. I've used inflator/sealant kits on all of my cars for the last 15 years and never had a problem. They didn't come with spares at all. Having a spare tire seems like a waste of money and unsafe(in the US, many drivers don't respect the shoulder, so you're very likely to get hit while changing the tire) BMW should just delete the spare tire and put the mobility kit in the X1 like they do for Europe.

How did you get this??

I ordered 5/10/22 original ETA mid March 23. Advised in JAN production was done and ETA is 30/4/2023.

Got an email update end of Feb saying ETA is still same.. expecting another update today. Hoping it's on track still.

I actually have an inflator and tire patch kit in the car and have been thinking about removing the spare tire lol. My e90 didn't have a spare, neither did my f32. I could do more with the extra space on a daily basis, and in Hawaii they've eliminated the shoulder on the freeway in many areas to add lanes so changing a tire on the side of the road is hazardous at best.

Update: now told by end of May 2023 - pretty sure this will end up going further and further into the year, massive delays for everyone.

Just some info for Melbourne buyers and possibly other Australian buyers with a Melbourne dock visit before they arrive at your destination, you can check the shipping schedule for MIRRAT at the Port of Melbourne Dock.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...t#gid=79611077

They update the schedule and schedule in ship arrivals and departures at Berths 1, 2 and 3. It looks like MIRRAT accepts the vehicles carriers at the car dock, I'm unsure if it does them all but they are doing the ship my car is on and other Wallenius Wilhelmsen ships plus Hoegh, Grimaldi Lines, Toyofuji, Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha, Armacup, KLINE and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines.

With that being said my ship is scheduled to dock 3 days after it was scheduled to arrive at Melbourne according to the Wallenius Wilhelmsen schedule (https://www.walleniuswilhelmsen.com/schedules).

Delays don't seem to be as bad as reported for other ships and it's probably to do with the fact that it is coming from Germany/Europe and not Asia with the current quarantine issues.

I ordered my X1 back on FEB, it was out of the factory last week. Haven't heard about a delivery date, but not getting ID9 doesn't feel good. So I might cancel my order (even though recent price increase) reorder it around NOV to get it. Should I?
