As long as you don’t endanger other drivers, you can drive however you want, hack whatever you want. That’s your prerogative. Just know that they limit the hands free time for a reason. I don’t live in the UK, nor the US but road signs, road laws can change the behaviour of how the car handles things autonomously |

I don't know why people think keeping your hand on the wheel is such a burden. You barely have to hold it there to keep the lights from turning yellow. What else are you going to be doing with your hands? |

Why are so many BMW owners still living in a cave?

I don't find it very interesting to drive without hands on the wheel. What surprises me today is that there is no communication between cars. It is still a one-way traffic communication. If cars communicate with each other via a fixed protocol, it will be much easier to drive autonomously. It is also possible to direct traffic flows to prevent traffic jams.

I'm not sure what the point of that video is in relation to this thread and the X1 in the UK, however many will have seen it already I'm sure; I have. But the questions below still stand.
Does the BMW X1 have level 3 autonomous driving require for legal hands off driving - No Does the law in the UK allow for level 3 autonomous hands free driving yet in 2024 - No Does all of the US allow for hands free driving in all states - No |

Sure hope we can buy Level 4 cars in the near future.... Like Miss Daily, I also sometimes shop at Piggly Wiggly and I don't want to hire a human chauffer. |

Literally says Level 3 driving in the title. This has got nothing to do with your original post or what you are trying to do.
I’m certain you didn’t even watch the video all the way. Listen to the BMW rep talk about the challenges with level 3 and bringing it to countries worldwide. And you think the level 2 X1 will handle roads well enough for a long duration… |
