Ghetto refers to trashiness, dirtiness, and squalor. In this context, it refers to the quality of the art, not the people who live in the ghetto. The artist is a Jewish woman who grew up in the suburbs of Lansing, a daughter of professors, and lives in a $>1 million home. She is obviously not from the ghetto per your definition.

Have you geniuses ever tried searching the definition of the word in every major dictionary? Do you know the origin? I think you do not. I'm not going to read into anyone's statement but the word has had the same meaning for over 100 years and it absolutely does imply a minority concentration.
