I contacted BMW Hellas directly and spoke with a guy. I explained the situation and told him I expect something substantial. I had told Sfakianakis I expect at the very least the adapative cruise control package with is a 1000 which costs them literally nothing. Well see.

Live your myth in Greece... I totally feel you.
We pay more to get less. I would have already had my lawyer contact them. Just to be compensated with what you really deserve for the inconvenience. I think the car will be fine after the repair. The process is plug n play enough to cause a problem later. |

I asked a lawyer but based on EU law they have the right to repair twice for the same issue from what i got. Dont matter if its 4000k or 400m like me. Germany is the problem! BMW here and the dealer just recieve the car and pass it on. Germany should be busting their ass to get the people who have already received and are paying or have payed for their shit. Two Audis no issues. Two BMWs both had issues. I’m going back as soon as the new Q3 comes out.

Sorry to hear that.
However give it some time after the repair. Your configuration looks great. Can't compare it to (what i've seen as) 2025 Q3. I'm "tired" of Audi's design and personally very disappointed of VAG's reliability. I feel lucky i lease mine... |

I am gonna give it some time after the replacement tran comes in myself.
The truth is I really like the car (same as my previous , stolen, X1) and have not found anything that compares in style, driveability and most importantly space...I have 2 kids and with the sliding back seat (from the travel package) that I got, the cargo space is immense while still seating adults comfortably in the back seat. My takeaway from this is NOT to buy a model immediately after a MY change or even a facelift... My previous F48 X1 was manufactured late 2018 so it was already 2 years down from launch and had NO issues... U11 is 1.5 years old now and has gone through its teething couple of recalls and now this (which seems to be something in the EGS module)... I expect cars manufactured from oct/nov 2024 onwards to be perfectly fine... P.S. The silliness of requiring an entire new transmission for a faulty electronics module is a different discussion |

My sentiments exactly. We only have one little guy but im 2.5 and my wife is also tall and so is he for his age. Dont know if we even fit because we never test drove it and I didn’t even get a chance to bring it home. I was originally going for an X3 but realized it was about to be replaced by the new one. Im sure the repair will be fine but to me i’m still paying full price for a used car. The whole thing is rediculous on a 60K car. Waiting to see what the new Q3 is gonna offer.

Take this with a grain of salt but I was told this is now a very common malfunction in the Q2 24 deliveries and apparently new deliveries are stopped/postponed till its sorted.
So if anyone's expecting an X1 delivered and is told it's delayed this is probably why. |

New x1 25 e arrived in June. Broke down after 6 weeks and 3,000 miles.
New transmission/gearbox ordered from Germany. Got car back in a week but 3 weeks and 1000 miles later I am still nervous. Obviously there is a latent defect and as my car was built in May 2024 it’s still not sorted |

I feel like I will be unconsciously soft on the car after it’s repaired because of your point. At least you got it in a week. I’m going on two months now and like I had mentioned before I drove it literally like 400 meters before the system threw up the error. Mine was built on April 17, 2024.

I asked Sfak if the halt on new X1s is real. They said no but who knows. Apparently my parts will be available in Germany on the 22nd. I’m sure that will get pushed as well. At this rate the 25s will be delivered before I get mine back! This for me is unforgivable and informed them that they have lost a customer. Pretty sure they dont giva a shit.

5 weeks with the dealer.
Still no update from them. However this also shows up now when checking the VIN: There is an open safety related recall on this vehicle. Please go here, to either request a convenient recall appointment for your vehicle or contact your local Centre for more information. Recall code 0034780200. This I believe is the new brake issue (and unrelated to the transmission issue). At this point I'm pissed off enough that if I could get them to buy it back for anything up to a 3000$ loss I'd do it in a heartbeat... (car has approx 1000km) |

I just got a call yesterday from the dealer. Trans is finally here and is being installed. Hopefully will get it finally this week or next. Maybe this time I will get to drive it more than 400 meters. Also I contacted German BMW customer support. They informed me there was nothing they could do and only referred me back to BMW here. But they did send an official email to them here and what do you know…few days later got the call. Could just be coincidence though. Still no mention of any good will gifts for my fuckin wait. The IBS recall didn’t apply to mine. Try contacting the German support and request they send an email to BMW here.

They also said they would handle the reprogramming for 0034780200 as well (you should check your VIN). Not sure how I can confirm that the 0034780200 fixes were performed however other than trusting them. Should finally have the car back on Tuesday.... Will update |

Have you taken a picture of the message showed when the problem occurred ? Unfortunately, I didn't have the composure when something similar happened to me. It is the message shown in the post below https://u11.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...23&postcount=1 along with the message that reverse cannot be selected on the dashboard.
A few days ago in, probably, one of the most difficult places this could happen (night, on a remote island, fully loaded with family and luggage and no cell signal) it wouldn't even start and showed the message above. Fortunately, after a few unsuccessful attempts, I restarted the idrive and the car immediately started up with no sign since of what had happened. The options from BMW are two.... Either I leave it as it is because probably it was a random bug of idrive, or I take it to them for a diagnosis which can last from half an hour to several hours in which case the car will have to remain there . Did your problem occur while running or at startup? Was it a red stop or could the car move? |
