Yeah, where is the luxury? Screens and tech =/= Luxury, especially since you can get Chinese cars with the same features, same crap interior quality, and same overstyled exterior for substantially less.

It’s true. They do handle well and can be pushed very fast, but there is no communication through the steering or brakes even in the M cars. Very capable, but numb. Probably the best chassis other than Porsche. I picked up the new CLE53 AMG, and the car feels more alive and connected - it’s exciting to drive. I do think BMW has sacrificed a number of driving pleasures for the sake of production and fuel efficiency and market share. It is what it is. I wish they had been able to add back mechanical feel in certain vehicles while allowing others to become plush. The X5 and X7 are the best all around SUVs out there, but they are dialed in without driving pleasure.

I guess you forgot the last century when we also outsourced 90% of our manufacturing to them.

Might’ve contributed to them being so good at manufacturing ay?

Or did you miss the part where most of batteries being produced for EVs are being produced by companies who got started making batteries for our iPhones?

I think that the cashmere fabric material like in 7 series would be nice, btw I’m not sure that US market has this option on 7 series, since our consumers associate fabric with poor specs and we are all billionaires and it’s against our status and most people are messy AF, so it’s hard to clean. But i can agree that it would be impractical in family hauler, but maybe just in the front seats?¿

You should give it a listen in the iX if you can. Since it’s a bespoke-platform EV with no transmission tunnel and no engine noise, they’ve actually built the speakers into the perfect places to engulf you. I’m a part time music producer and use the iX for studio reference before mastering. It’s impossibly good at reproducing all frequencies as expected.

I’m a little worried that since the iX5 will share a platform with the ICE X5 they won’t be able do some of the iX magic tricks with the audio system! 😱😢😀

Nothing I said was racist, nor did I put "Chinese" in quotes. I said tech in itself is NOT luxury, and pointed to low cost Chinese cars that have the same features, and I stand by that statement.

This car will be over priced, low quality and ugly like all modern BMWs.

You pointed to “low cost” Chinese cars? Maybe you can point me to the point in your post where it said “low cost” and didn’t mention Chinese cars generally.

Or do you think all Chinese cars are inherently low cost?

By the way, tech in and of itself is not luxury, but is certainly a luxury feature.
