Intentionally ambiguous - perfect legalese. No wheel to wheel racing but gets murky for time attack and the like. Sounds like HPDE is ok as long as competitive does not include any timed event. The spirit of the disclaimer is likely to protect their motorsports arrangements.

There was a C&D review way back when the 2012 Boss 302 came out where it beat a then new E92 M3 around Laguna Seca. That car was amazing, it still had a solid rear axle and yet it was a really capable track car. My dad had a 2013 Boss 302 Laguna Seca, that car was a frickin riot.

So a Mustang is quicker than a Ford GT at the Ring? I must admit though the Mustang GTD sounds great on track.

I mean, it's impressive and all...but if it took THIS long to "scratch the surface", that isn't something to be proud of IMO.

I'll be honest; I've never heard the Nurburgring called "The green hell!" Drama...

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Maybe. But it didn't have some.huge HP advayover the e92, it was like 450hp.or so vs 410 in the e92, which was probably offset by (I assume) higher weight in the Mustang. It did have 4.10 gears so corner exit speeds were nuts.
To be fair, the two were not competitors in anyway other than paper similarities. Boss 302 had the base interior, cloth seats, the base audio system, manual HVAC controls... It was not a luxury car at all whereas the e92 was. So it shouldn't be surprising that it was faster, that was it's main focus. |
