Victor, you said you were born in Japan but went to US at 8 (in another thread), seriously though, why does your grammar suck so much? Your posts are very hard to read sometimes, filled with many spelling and grammatical errors.

Just curious, I'm just saying, for people that weren't born, but grew up, in North America, their English is usually as good as the native speakers.

Actually it is usually much better.

That is assuming a lot. Many other younger members on here, I won't give names, definitely need to go back to elementary school. I mean I get upset when people use the wrong their/there/they're and when they put apostrophes on its when they shouldn't but i'm talking about people who seriously just can't spell or are too lazy to type correctly to the point where you can hardly even understand what they are saying.

Don't mean to come across as a grammar nazi, Nikki, but that is an ironic statement considering it's hard to understand what you are saying too! That long run-on sentence could be broken up to better convey your point hehe.

My main gripe was about his grammar, less so on his spelling.

I can't blame Victor... he has a serious serious aversion to dirty prostitudes. I mean, if all I could think was prostitudes I would likely have difficulty forming congisant sentences as well.

I agree.

Then/than
Their/they're/there
It's/its
Effect/affect
etc...

All of the above should be mastered by anyone trying to communicate in writing as an adult.

Victor's still in high school.

Keep that in mind. This person is probably very young and their brain is not fully mature for sure.

With that said, I can give some room for error on the spelling.

Peace

It doesn't matter here, but when you're writing a letter or email to someone trying to make an impression and it is full of spelling and grammatical errors they will think you are an idiot.

I would suggest installing google toolbar and running spellcheck on your posts (all it takes is one click). Note the correct spelling of the words you are misspelling and try to remember how to spell them right. Same goes for emails, etc.... How else are you going to learn?

It's annoying and you should always stay in the habit of writing properly so you can when you need to.
