Ray ban polarized are great, I really think they make a difference. I would always wear designer sunglasses with different styles to think I was fashionable. I got rid of all of them, bought a nice ray ban polarized set for 120 on sale, they're not going anywhere else but with me.
Thanks,
Nickn
Sorry - saw non polarized , it's a Monday .
Ray ban wrap or any wrap are great, they prevent sunlight from entering the sides. I had lasik and sunglasses help everything.

Ordered a pair of AO Eyewear sunglasses. They'll be here next week. I'll post up what I think.

If you want to keep any of your current glasses, replacement lenses might be an option:

right, but it's not ideal. Have to turn brightness all the way up which then makes it too bright at night.

Ray Ban rb3447 with green prescription non-polarized progressives. These live in a hard case in the left door pocket, they never leave the car.

I have a set of Oakley Holbrooks in each car so that I can't ever forget sunglasses. The BMW just has a non polarized set. Plenty of brands do polarized and non polarized in the same from. Find a pair you like and just buy one of each.

You can code yourself or have a dealer alter the HUD polarization angle IIRC.

That would be...pretty surprising as polarizing is typically done via physical filters. It would be a weird feature to have adjustable filtering on a screen.

It's the windshield itself that's polarized. I'll have to dig through to find where I saw what needs to be done (changes the direction of the projection aperture between horizontal/vertical/angular or something to that effect). Setting it opposite of the polarization of the sunglasses allows the hud to be seen again.

I am...very dumb. Sorry. I came in here without catch the 'heads up display' in the title. I thought we were talking about the LCD screen in the dash (which I cannot read with polarized filters either) haha

Another alternative, get a piece of transparency film like a teacher would use on an overhead projector. They are polarized. Put on your glasses and hold film up to display, rotate film until you can see the display, then cut out an insert that will fit the display in that orientation.

Slip film insert on top of display and voila! You can see display while driving with polarized glasses.

I use Rudy Projects. You can actually get them with free readers on the bottom which works great for old guys like me.

Oakley Flak 2.0's for me. I have a polarized pair of Half Jackets and I don't really like them for driving because of what the thread title says.

I have a pair of polarized Prada sunglasses and can still see the HUD in both of my BMWs. Only brand I've found where I can still see it.

Blue Mirrored Ray-Bay RB4291. Light, comfortable, durable, and I like how they look on my big giant cartoon head.

Buy any sunglasses you want. Then go here and get whatever lenses, style and color you want. Lenses are important, but most rarely buy sunglasses based on the lenses, it's the style, how they look on you and comfortability.

You're welcome.

I just re-lensed a pair of Oakley Five (squared) and Ray-Ban Predators. Extrememly pleased with the cost/quality.
