Im so sorry this happened man. Im really sorry for your accident. The cleanest e90s in my opinion. I cann see the silvery arms on the inside of your wheel arch which are connected to the wheel, they look so clean. I had my car pressured hosed to clean that. And my front bumper, that part which lies under the hood its all matte colored and full of dryspots and water spots. How on earth do you keep this clean? BTW, you should sell your right Xenon headlamp, I think I saw a member who needed it. And buy the Euro Xenons. This is a great alternative. And now you can get the front M bumper.

I dont know man. I've heard 1000 incidents where people just walk up to a car and opened fire on it. I'd rather take the chance of fighting him in court than die. |

Exactly. Just three weeks ago there was a road rage incident where a guy died just 20 miles from where this happened. Similar scenario. Guy in the front car got out, walked toward the car behind him, pulled out a gun, poped two rounds into the guy, then got back in his car and drove off. The guy who got shot died in route to the hospital. I think I may have been thinking about this at the time and that's when my emotions took control.

However, the events leading up to him pulling up in front of you were at least partially your fault. You running into the F150 is going to be your fault as far as your insurance is concerned, I think, no matter what the "reasons" were. There was no need for you to "take off" and not let him pass you-- and I'm not suggesting you are being misleading with your version of the events, but it's only your version of the events. I'm sure this guy was a real jackass, but you probably shouldn't have let him get under your skin. That machine you're driving in is a fine automobile, statistically better than 90%+ of what's on the road, and I hope you didn't let that get to your head. Anyway, I'm not going to say I have no sympathy for you, because you were probably just minding your business when this prick happened upon you-- but I don't think you can call it a hit & run... to some extent, you might have been victimized, but at least part of that was poor judgement on your part. Anyway, good luck with everything. Good excuse to buy an M3 |

That's true. I mean if someone just randomly walks up to me in traffic with that kind of attitude I would have just hit them. However, if it was me who caused the conflict then Im not so sure. Then again, if someone comes out of the car all huffed and puffed up and walks toward me I would probably be scared to death. The only naturally instinct then is to hit him. |

I agree with some of the posts here that bmwexecutive escalated the situation and now both drivers are in more hassle than they bargained for. However, I think many of us here would be just as furious as he was. Self control and patience come with age. I witnessed an accident with two reckless driving knuckleheads last Thursday. (They both tailgated me but I let them pass.) Saw the pieces lined up like domino and sure enough 10 seconds later they collided with each other. I passed by the accident feeling justice has been served and arrived to work on time.
I am gald you got out of this situation without a scratch. This situation could have gone sour in so many ways. You are one lucky man. Go get your car fixed. |

You've obviously been watching those Police Chase videos. However, when the general public get involved in stopping erratic drivers is when the police chase is already on. You missed the plot!
I feel sorry for what you got yourself into, but you asked for it. In my experience when some men get behind a wheel something takes over (Road Rage), and turns them into egotistical maniac. You never know what kind of person is behind a wheel. Always err on the side of caution. I once pulled into the other lane without due care and attention and caused a driver in that lane to brake to avoid hitting me. He then pursued me at some speed until we came to some red lights. I knew he was gonna get out. Without hesitating I turned to him put my hand up and mouthed "Sorry". He was fuming, but immediately calmed down and we both went on our way. No harm done. I learned 2 lessons that day: 1-always turn your head before manouvering into the other lane, and 2-a simple and humble sorry can get you out of trouble. |

P.S. Does anyone know if I still have to pay the deductible on my insurance even though it wasn't my fault? My deductible is $500 so it's not all that horrible, but of course it'd be great if there was none for this.
I had a hit and run a few years ago, fortunately not with my new BMW. An illegal changed lanes and i was in his blind spot. I got the tag #, FHP came and did the report. Clearly not my fault and my insurance co. claimed it as not my fault. But, i still had to pay the deductable. |

I dont get where the "black suv" and the "blue F150"...wasn't teh Black after you? Then you hit the blue F150? (but you said that you got into an accident with the car you were reporting.
Anyways...I think you did the right thing. (But another E90 down ) The guy in the black suv was threatening your life and you had to prevent him from putting you in that situation. If I were you, I'd get a good lawyer and sue his ass and put him off the road.

Yeah I think you can get him for assault I think. As long as you had the fear that you were gonna die or get shot or hit you can claim it for damages. You'll either get compensatory or punitive damage for it. Then again, that guy might find out where you live and kill you.

Sounds like typical Florida Bullshit. So many folks would and do intentionally create drama and hazardous situations without thinking of the consequences.
Nobody did the right thing here. One Cluster after another. If you're going to play the game, gotta expect to occasionally back it up, SO much better to NOT play the game, NOT to get wrapped up in Ego and dick waggling. It's hard not too for sure, but the potential consequences aren't worth a few minutes of chest thumping. Especially if you consider that being in a BMW sorta makes you target anyway for the Inbred, Knuckle Dragging, NASCAR watching, mouth breathers so numerous in the South and Florida especially... The Land of the "Sense of Entitlement"... Easier said than done, but you gotta stay outta this sorta thing, it's just stupid male Ego and bullshit and could have life altering consequences.

Some stupid people just can't bear sight of someone else driving a nicer automobile than theirs. I *always* park my car towards the end of the parking lot, away from other cars and some as&**le scuffed the door last friday & ruined my whole day! Not sure what's up with people...

Sorry to hear about it but like others have mentioned, you need to try and keep your emotions out of it and just let him go.
Sounds like an incident I had a few weeks ago. I was coming up to a green light and it turned yellow but I knew I could make the right turn before the stopped traffic started moving, plus they obviously saw me going to take the turn. (Yes I know I should have just waited, first mistake.) So I take the corner and there is a truck in the right lane stopped and as soon as the light turns green he floors it purposely trying to hit me apparently because he is mad I took the right turn on red as his light was turning green. So I floor it to get him off my ass and he does the same and we get up to 50 mph which is the speed limit and he is still on my ass so I get into the left lane and I hear him floor it because it downshifts and then since no one is behind me I hit my brakes pretty hard so he can't really get a look at me while he is passing. I was afraid he was going to start yelling at me or something and just wanted to avoid it. He spent the next mile speeding up and slowing down trying to get next to me so he could yell but I didn't let him and never even saw what he looked like. He had to turn off the road and I was so relieved the "chase" was over. Next time I'm in a rush and know I can make the light before the other traffic starts maybe I'll think twice anyways lol.
