I don't understand your reasoning. What does having an engine from an S4 have to do with pricing? You do realize they're the same cars with a different number of doors.

I don't like the headlights, I actually prefer the previous rendition.

I like it, it's still the best looking coupe in it's class.

I think the A5 got the better end of the deal this time; it needed more visual impact and had to differentiate itself from the S5 so it didn't just look like a cheaper variant. Speaking of the S5, I really can't stand Audi's new layered intake look around the brake ducts like they gave to the A6 S-Line.

Btw they've been giving the S5 cabs and sportbacks the SC 3.0 for a while now. I just got back from Aussie land and saw quite a few with the badges along the front fenders. Better engine with less soul; win and loss at the same time.
+1 on everything. I think the A5 is the one that benefited most from the facelift. I still like the S5 facelift (apart from the fog surrounds) but it's the A5 where you really notice the improvements. At the moment I wouldn't buy an A5 without the S-line but now even in standard form it looks so much better.

Also, yeah I've seen a lot of S5 cabs around with the S4 engine. You described it perfectly: better engine but less soul.

Very interesting. Could be a game changer for the A5 lineup.

I'll tell you why in canada in 2008 the S4(B7) was 69 000$ base price while the s5 was about 69 000$ both w/o tax.

Audi lowered the s5 to 60K in 2011 while the s4(B8) starts at 53K. That's my reasoning. By changing the s4 to the B8 bodystyle(loosing it's v8) the priced dropped by 16K. Audi will probably serve us some BS that the S5 is low volume production car bla bla.
I have no problem with the S5 being a little more expensive but s4 price dropped heavily can they drop the S5 by a couple of G's?

I'm a big time Audi/Vw guy not that much of a Bmw fan but got to admit that Bmw prices are way more realistic then Audi. With Bmw there is about 2K max between coupe and sedan(3 series that is). RS4 was about 30K more then an M3 back then.

With that being said I like the new exterior changes but not a fan of the engine change btw they had to do it.

Looks like the EU don't-run-over-grandma law has smashed another pretty face.
