Be a smart person to avoid people like that, don't double park. Crazy people are everywhere.
I did double park once by accident and some guy left me a message on a windshield "Thanks, ass**le, next time I see you park like that I'll tow you!" and left a pretty big scratch on the side of my car.

Double parking like that will get you two cars squeezed even tighter on both sides of you in NY. I guess the only thing I would suggest is finding end spots if your lucky and hugging the end. But ANYTHING that attracts more attention to your car could also get you vandelized.

I say screw it and enjoy life. I hate paint dings just like everyone else but NOTHING guarantees against them. I think about the previous cars i've owned that I didn't care as much as the BMW. Yeah I've gotten paint chips but that was from not caring at all and not touching them up over a 10 year period. Accept it . Probably one of the worst things, most will agree because we have so little control over it.

The door on my car got dinged just last week because I took the car to school...I parked in the furthest lot from the school, took two spaces where no one else was parking, I come out of school and find two fucking dents in my driver side door with white paint in them, and like soda all over my fucking hood...

God damn I was pissed as fuck, I still am, I wish I could find the person who did it and take a bat to their fucking face.

That absolutely sucks...especially when you parked far away where it's not so much of a competition for spots. It must have been a real jack-ass with no purpose who did that...

This is why I believe in Karma...sometime, somewhere, that idiot will get what's coming to him.

So, if the parking lot is mostly empty, and you park way the hell away from everyone where it's empty... why do you still feel the need to double park?

Makes no sense. It's inconsiderate, and it basically states that you have an overinflated sense of self importance.

I don't advocate vandalism, but in my mind, the people who double park ANYWHERE are just about the same type of people who key cars. Just a different kind of petty.

I don't understand double parking either. It takes the same amount of effort and motions to deliberately double park as you do when pulling into a spot regularly. So what's the point?

Damn, are you people really this stupid?

We double park for a reason, and that is so our cars don't get dinged by morons who let their doors fly open or just can't drive for that matter.

You might as well leave your car parked safely in your own garage if you are that anal and feel that someone will hurt your precious baby.

I used to be that way until a ladder fell on my car while I was parked in my garage....

That ladder is now rumored to be cut into little pieces and buried under the eastern endzone of Giants Stadium.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner....and he happens to be from the same Great State of Texas that our beloved President is from!

Wait a minute.....I see a pattern developing here......

I went to the eye doctor this afternoon after work...Parked way down at the end (even though my mom was like 'ooh a spot in the front!) by myself..no one around.

I come out 30 minutes later...and what do I find? People crowded all around my car, and a Sears Van squeezed up against my drivers door. Had to ask him to move so I could get into my own car. Asshat.

And I didn't even double park!!!

What is to understand? I said double parking in common areas is wrong. Double parking far away where you know for a fact no one will care, then its cool...

I have no problem finding spots like the one I mention. If for some reason I cannot find a good spot then i look for one where I can hug the curb. My car is my daily driver by the way.

I know a lot of people who are morons. By and large, for all their faults and foibles, they are decent folk, and by and large, I get along with them.

I know a lot of people who are self-centered jackasses with a sense of self-importance far greater than their worth as a human being. By and large, these people are assholes and dicks, and I get along with none of them.

If you want to be a dick and double park, then expect the laws of attraction to bring another dick to come key the hell out of your car. Two wrongs don't make a right, but two dicks do, apparently.
