For some reason, I thought the LF-A video was more entertaining. The guy on the Lexus looked like he was on the edge of crashing at every turn and the 918 looked like it could've gone even faster if pushed a little harder. I also like the V10 sound more.
This makes the 375K LF-A seem like a bargain. Come to think of it, I'd rather get the LF-A and a decent house on the side. LOL But, still, congrats to Porsche for breaking the 7 minute barrier. |

At that kind of speed and with that power, what's the point? Do you think F1 drivers should do the same MT are absolutely more fun, but I don't see how you can argue with PDK on a supercar like that.

Just curious... would a 2nd lap be slower? The reason I ask is because the right-hand gauge shows "BOOST" which I assume is the amount of power left in the batteries from the KERS-like regenerative braking. It starts off at maximum (I assume they fully charged it before letting it out) and throughout the lap it eventually reaches zero (i.e. you use more boost than you can regenerate from braking). Also I noticed him fiddling with some settings on the steering wheel near the end on the straight - could that be him turning off the electric assist to save it for the last few turns on corner exit?

And I doubt the P1 will be able to beat even this time given its run 7:04. 7 seconds on a sub 6 minute lap is a lifetime. |

Oh, so all the Porsche phags dwell here now?
Funny, I can't wait to see another bargain supercar like the gtr or corvette rape the 918 so we can hear all kinds of bitching from Porsche on how the cars must have been tweaked for racing and cheated on their lap times. Lol @ Porsche being king of the ring. It is not kings who are remembered the most, but those who dethrone the king and claim the crown for themselves. |
