LOL...as I just told my wife that I hate to travel. (She's in France today, BTW) just landed a few hours ago, as she butt dialed me on her cellphone at 2:00AM this morning. I have no night time pictures of France to add to this thread at the moment...but I may add some later.
Half my wife's family lives in Italy, so we go there...on occasion. Most of my travels have been to Italy / Europe. Some others are business trips. This was from Venice...and I have no idea what the hell it is. I'll have some more pics from there later. (didn't have my tripod, sorry about the blur).

haha, unfortunatly no, the bar one you moved
I really like the picture and the subject, but the negative space on the right, and how centered the subject is, is kinda bugging me. Just my .02c which with the way the dollar is right now is like .021 cents US |

I really like it, i think the slight tilt gives it a candid feel and everything.
I dunno, i'm not the best reference for critiquing people, I'm just going from what i've been learning watching others in here and other places (including yourself) I'll toss one up in SOD thread |

To get this back on track...I'll pummel you with night shots of San Marco Square at night.
I can keep this up for a while...night photography is probably all I can do

200 on both...the 1st shot was a 4 second exposure, which the 3rd was a 10 second.

Thanks...
Amazing how many people were walking around that late at night. I was starting to get a little antsy with them. Tons of shots were ruined when they just walked in front. You can see the guy in the first picture on the left, got in the way...then backed out. - Also in that picture, there are at least 4 people holding camera's in their hand as they take the pictures...somehow, I don't think they turned out how they expected.

posting here instead of the SOD thead, but I finally got a chance to shoot one of my own. This was w/ my XTi. I shot w/ both my XTi and 5D but liked how this one came out the best.

And nice moon shot bosstones... it's nice that it wasn't a full moon so you were able to get some detail in the craters on the side. I love when you can see the texture of the moon.

nice shot Jeff. There might be one or two areas that seem overexposed to me...

You would think that people, if tourists at least, would take advantage of the magical 'review/playback' function on digital cameras to make sure their pix came out. Sadly, they don't seem to and then gripe about how their pix came out. My favorite is when they think all is right when the dinky little flash provided on pretty much all cameras goes off outdoors in an expansive environment. I guess I sound like a snob now. Quote:
Thanks. You mean near the bottom around the one crater? I was actually hoping to merge some exposures but CS3's HDR function didn't like cooperating with me. I don't seem to have re-installed photomatrix since I last redid my computer. I'll have to load it and give it a try.

Ok, I "cheated" by using my 500/f4 plus a 1.4x TC:
Super harvest moon by dcstep, on Flickr ISO 200, f/11, 1/100th second with Canon 7D. Reddish tint is due to sun below horizon to my back. This is right before dawn. Dave
