Not a tequila drinker but I currently have a craving for some oak aged tequila.
Maybe it's the travel bug acting up.. it's hard to track the good stuff down in Ontario. |

Lately, here in PA, just about anything I can lay hands on. State Store shelves are not looking very well stocked.

Whistle Pig 10 year rye single barrel.
I've gotten hooked up with a local group who does barrel picks and we have had some really great picks recently this being one of them.

in fact, yesterday was probably my most successful trip ever to the navy package store...it's really hit or miss there...mostly miss. but they must've have gotten a three-month backlog shipment considering most shelves have been empty since prior to thanksgiving!

Family reserve is an excellent extra anejo, especially when it's free.
Very smooth and peppery and they come in a very cool box. |

That WhistlePig is from Alberta Distillers, IIRC. Some of their offerings are sourced from MGP in Indiana - maybe the 12 year? If you're looking for an everyday cocktail rye, George Dickel rye is also MGP distilled, 4 years old, I think and at $25/bottle here it's damned tough to beat from a value perspective. Not the most complex sipper, but makes a great Sazerac or Manhattan. |

and yes, WP10SB is still sourced from canada. i'm a huge fan of ryes generally, and whistle pig specifically. i think their last farmstock bottling was the first to contain a majority of their own homegrown juice. i do appreciate what they're trying to do...unlike many other "new wave" bottlers whose only goal is to blend MGP juices.

^^ Nice. I have a bottle of the 7 year and I only tried the 15yr. A client of mine went to Cuba and brought me back the 7yr and a mini bottle sampler so I could try the entire line up. Sadly here in the states we can't get that stuff. Yall are lucky

Scored some bottles for the weekend, but I can’t decide which one to start with.
@P1, I have the scotch, you bring the Dr. Thunder, Sunny D and Fanta mixers! Oh, and don’t forget the Yeti tumbler! |
