Was here when I walked in, got two milkshakes and walked out, still there.
Must have been in the bathroom, must have had to park in a hurry.

Its funny, because this was the situation I was presented with just the other day, but here's the kicker. It was the parking lot at my office and there is a super wide spot between two vehicles (which could only be created if one of them was parking way over a line, thus creating a spot that was 1.5 spaces at least). I know one of them is parking like an asshole, but admittedly, the parking lines are pretty faded in some spots and could really use a touch up. I initially square up against the white car, but it doesn't feel right to me, and I think I can see a very faint line in the camera which I'm way over if so. So instead, I reposition and square up with the truck on my left which was fine, I'm checking, I'm in the lines, all is good. Wasn't going to be that person, and sure enough, white car had made precisely zero attempts to park within the lines. White car had pretty much centered the car over one of the lines creating a very generous sized spot.

Walked away and came back out an hour or two later and lo and behold, white car repositioned itself within the lines a few feet to the right - I'm 90% positive it was the same white car. Had I left my truck squared up against the white car, I would have been the one left looking like an asshole.

Alternatively (assuming I'm right about it being the same white car), I suppose its possible, someone else did the same thing to the white car forcing him to park that way but had left by the time I got there, and white car felt bad and went out and moved it when he saw he had space to move to. Could have been a chain reaction caused by an original asshole long since departed to share his gift with others.

So, the driver decided to park in the middle of the laneway, and this happened.

No pic, but yesterday it happened again! Parked so far away from the store, empty spots all around, intentionally away from everyone. Come out and there's a car parked right next to me. Like really? Once again this was a fortunate circumstance because the wife was with me. But honestly would have loved to sit and wait for the other driver to return and ask him/her like what drove them to do that (pun intended)... Because it's just not normal... And I believe intentional to raise a person Blood Pressure! Old days, I would've helped them home, and you all can figure out what that means!

Enjoy the Holidays!

Oh god I wish I took a picture... I pulled into an end spot from the other side. A *driver* had thought they were getting that spot, but had to pull around me to go into the other one.

She tried back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and then just gave up and parked with fully half the car out of the spot to the side, and half the car out of the end of the spot to the front, car is at a 30 deg angle to the spot. Gets out of the car and walks away.

This could have been fine if her car wasn't now sitting practically in the middle of the main travel lane of this very busy grocery store parking lot. It was mayhem.

Maybe they are lonely? 🤔

Or a theory: Maybe the driver who singles out your distant car figures you
are as concerned about door dings as you are, so feel safe parked next to
you? 🤔

Usually children do this as their parents don't teach them any better, though I've seen adults do it too.

Yep. Its the lead by example thing.

Years ago I had an adult in-law riding in the right front seat. I parked our car
in a restaurant parking lot, carefully centered. The in-law opened the door
and banged the mirror on the adjacent car. As he got his large behind out
of the car, our door rubbed up and down on the adjacent mirror. He seemed
completely oblivious to what he was doing to both cars. He’s never been in
my cars since. 🤬
