I think it’s all about a pistol that fits your hand and is already on target without aiming.
You will know when you find it.

Glock model 30. Yeah the double stack is a wee bit heavy for concealment but I get by. I'd prefer a 1911 with full length barrel for shooting but they are very heavy. |

The Glock (even in .45) didn't 'feel' right in my hands - as per what you said.
But I have always welcomed shooting 45 ACP on any platform. The 45 Glock felt heavier than say the equivalent 9 (or maybe my girly manhands were tired from loading mags) |

Funny stuff. I never considered loading mags of any type that hard. With the exception of Sten 9 mm. I had a Mac11 in 9 mm converted to take Sten mags. Sure, the mags are cheap. But I hated loading them with a passion.

Anyone running their own NVGs? Not issued to you, but bought with your own money.
I'm looking at getting set-up for night vision as that seems to be the next step. I'm good to go on pistol, carbine, and rifle in both day and night with white lights, but I've never tried to shoot with nods. If you bought your own, what do you think of them? Worth the high cost of entry? Wish you bought a better quality? Anything else to share? |

Love it. It is small enough to conceal, very little muzzle rise from a compact. I have over 9k rounds through it (have used it in competition shooting) and have never failed me. It eats everything I put through the pipe too. I have fed it some crap steel case ammo too. Grip is perfect size too. My wife has her own.

Their shit is so cheap. The magazines are a joke. I’m like how does my magazine jam while loading? Cheap ass plastic shit. I’ll stick to my glocks.

Actually in the process of building a G17. Looking to possibly do a G21 with a micro-roni as well. That would be a sweet little setup.

If your old and your eyes are going to shit like mine - check out the P365 SAS. The sights are perfect for me and I can see them with and without my glasses on - in daylight and nite. I pack mine 365 days a year - best carry gun I have ever owned and I don't feel outgunned with it like the old pocket 380's back in the day...... Have not regretted buying it a single day.

I have several older Colt 1911s, a Colt Mustang, and one new Staccato which is awesome in 9mm. But, carry weapons are always a trade off of shooting and carrying. For shooting a double stack 1911 in .45 is great. But man is that heavy. For carry a small 380 is great. But I can't hit anything with that. The Glock 30 is a good compromise for me. I can actually hit stuff with it, has 10 rounds of 45 and isn't too heavy. To each their own. |
