You do forget that Massa WAS actually cheated out of a WDC that ham got only because they covered up a cheating scandal and admitted to it. |

sorry no link, just copied from someone's post
F1 drivers impressed by swift action from new FIA race director: — George Russell and Carlos Sainz praised new FIA Formula 1 race director Rui Marques for his responsiveness and effective decision-making during his first weekend in charge at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. — Marques, formerly a race director in F2 and F3, stepped into the role after Niels Wittich’s unexpected dismissal following the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, prompting concerns over his experience managing F1 races. — After their first meeting with Marques, both drivers expressed satisfaction with his swift implementation of driver-requested changes. — Russell highlighted Marques’ approach to track limits: “Positive, to be honest. We’ve been through a little bit of an era where our comments are taken on board, but very little change happens. For example, a number of drivers spoke about the track limits at turn four. We felt it was a little bit unnecessary on a street circuit, and he made a change to it in the moment. That is what we want to see as drivers. We all want to be heard, and we want to see action taken straightaway. So far it has been positive.” — Sainz echoed Russell’s sentiments and mentioned an additional change regarding pit entry visibility: “He has been given a massive task to come into a season with three races left, and being a race director is such a complicated role in Formula 1. “George commented on the exit of turn three. I would say we also asked for some changes on the pit entry to make the line more visible because we literally couldn’t see the pit entry line and we were very worried about that. “Today, we turned up to the track, and the pit entry line was widened with a blue line. We were all saying this was really nice because they did a very nice change. The way we were listened to yesterday was very positive, and I’m very encouraged by that.” — Both drivers agreed that Marques’ swift and effective adjustments created one of the most productive driver briefings in recent memory. The Sainz incident was explained earlier. Because it was from pitlane to track it counts only as tracklimits. If it was the other way around, from track to pitlane it would be different.

He already won the virtual "24 Hours of Le Mans" and virtual "Nürburgring 24h" (he's considered to be amongst the finest drivers worldwide in sim racing too) and I expect him to also win the real "24 Hours of Le Mans" after retiring from F1. Combining an F1 race weekend with a sim racing world competition event (while all competing F1 drivers are focusing on the race weekend events only: FPs, qualies and race), and win both events: which other F1 driver ever pulled this off ? This doesn’t take into account the qualitiative things like car competitiveness - Max won 2 of these WDCs in inferior and slower cars whereas Ham’s first was only won with a blantant cheating scandal the FIA admitted to covering up and the other 3 were in a car so fast Helen Keller would have gotten in and won with ease. Beyond that 2022/2023 from Max are stastically two of the best seasons ever in F1 (only other one close was Schumacher’s 2004) and are way above Ham’s best season by large margin.
On top of that, winning, especially year over year since 2022 has become the hardest in history due to budget and limited testing scale, the most competitive field of cars which are some of the most difficult to drive as well, and was done in an era of skill and talent that was not there when Ham won his in the most dominant and easy to drive car ever seen. So Max’s all around have far more weight to them. I’d argue Max’s 4 are equal to Ham’s “7”. Ham’s 7 at the same time are nowhere close to Schuamcher’s 7 which were as hard earned as Max’s.
