NO LIE... about 1 minute before italy's first goal, i was praying to myself hoping that italy would score. I couldnt BELIEVE it came true. I almost fainted. I was running around the house screaming.. my mom was screaming, my cell phone was going off like crazy. :rocks:

2.my cuzn always acts like another Italian palyer

2.and my 3rd cuzn always acts like he's the coach

and when the match ended, we hug n jump with eachother, and the others watch n laugh saying where's the match?? Germany or here

There is a very apparent change of atmosphere in Germany now...but it makes it easier to get to tomorrows game.

I'm somewhat disappointed, I wanted to see Germany get shut down by France in Berlin. The next 2 games should be interesting.

I'm confused...is this the same Italy team that the United States tied?!?!! It's hard to imagine that the United States could play on par with that level of play.

Some of the teams like France and Italy definitely played better as the World Cup progressed.

France made it to Semi Finals and they scored no goals last World Cup and now they beat Brazil. Does that make sense?

Italy played good and I couldn't believe how they took Germany down in last 3 minutes of the game

It's going to be a good final game vs Portugal or France

I certainly am having a great time living in Italy and watching the Italians go wild with every world cup win....I have been a "tifoso" of "gli azzurri" since 1982 when I watched them (while living in Spain) win the World Cup...Forza Italia - l'italia e' in finale!!!!!!!

Italy had superior team. First half they dominated and they had more chances throughout the rest of the game.

Lippi is by far the best coach in the competition. He played with four strikers in the second half of over time (that takes balls) Iaquinta, Gillardino, Totti and Del piero. So don`t say that the Italians play to defensive.

I`m impressed with Grosso. I didn`t like the fact that Lippi was playing Zambrotta on the right and Grosso on the left, I would have preferred Zambrotta on the left and Oddo on the right but I guess I was wrong.

i don't agree with you. Yes italy was the better team, but in the first half the game was quite close and the only real chance was for germany from schneider. Yes, he played with four strikers ( i don't think Totti or Del Piero are strikers) but that can be read another way, he needed to refresh the squad, so he putted in players who can score penalties. Totti was tired since the begining of the extra time, so the only reason he was in there was for the penalties. Totti and Del piero weren't all out attacking, neither was Ianquinta. In the second goal you can see that clearly, Gilardino holds the ball and Iaquinta and Del Piero arrive really fast. Typical lighning fast counter attack.
Italy special. Now Italy could have been in the lead since the begining of extra time, they had a ball in the post and crossbar.

I didn't knew Grosso, but he is being one of the best for Italy. Great goal yesterday, and getting the penalty against Australia. Hes being critical for Italy.

Totti and Del Piero are strickers. Totti is what they call a trequartista, meaning he plays behing the striker and in front of the midfield. Del piero is what they call a second point (seconda punta), usually when their`s two strikers the second stiker is the second point he plays little bit more back than the first point. Iaquinta is a pure sticker.

I agree with you regarding the fact that Lippi was preparing for penalty kicks, nonetheless he still wanted that goal. He could of put in Oddo who takes all the penalty kicks for Lazio instead Gillardino who never takes penalty kicks for Ac Milan.

The Italians played to win.
