Nobody in this thread, based on what has been written has OCD except - maybe Lups.

Ask yourselves:
Are your thoughts intrusive or unwanted? Are they affecting your professional, business or social lives ...is it taking up too much of your time? Are you doing it with the goal or reducing anxiety or do you just like a neat organized wallet or a proper table setting?

No? See..you just have habits and rituals like everyone does. You like things neat and orderly..not OCD.

LOL I wouldn't go that far but I'd definitely flip my knife over right away

I can't imagine what that must be like for an employer. If someone mentioned the word "vertigo" anywhere with H.R. I would want to bin their application.

That's another huge problem. At some point you have so many people in for things that they *think* are happening to them that you have to triage. Usually if they are a walkie-talkie (they walked in under their own power and can talk to you) they are a low priority.

Buahaha! I admit I'm the worst dinner date ever, but I don't think that still is reason enough to get diagnosed. Still, before moving here I had nightmares about having to go to a dinner with an American eater. Actually, I still have the same dream at least 2 times a week.

I can not take it! You fucking cut your food first, and then stab it with a fork?! Is it so damn difficult to just keep the thing in your hand, and not do it beforehand?!

It does indeed infect my social life, I just hang around with Europeans here, and when I go out with a punch of idiot friends of mine, and someone wants to eat, I make sure its finger food. I just couldn't look at them ever again, if they would put the knife down.

Okay, I have an actual issue.

KEEP THE FUCKING KNIFE IN YOUR HAND!!!

Even worse, use the left hand to hold the fork hamfisted and the right to hold the knife while cutting, then put the knife down and switch hands with the fork. Talk about wasted effort.

I have heard that too, but my favorite is that "Why would you bother"

As admitted before, okay, I have issues.

I actually have left the table after seeing that a couple of times, and then mystically my phone has gone missing, so the person whom I had the displeasure of meeting, can't contact me ever again.

Okay, apparently I'm now just reading trough this thread and commenting on this. I'm sorry, but even in written form it drives me insane!

Please, let's not talk about this ever again. I can't take it. I can laugh at myself, but the need to hurt someone is arising.

Well hell, use words not just you know like empty shit! If one needs hands to make something clear, then the need to get a word book is great!

KEEP THE KNIFE. And if you ever are attacked by a golden retriever lookalike for not holding one, I'm sorry. It probably was me.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disease characterized by obsessions, repetitive (usually unpleasant) thoughts and compulsions, and ritualistic behaviors. Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) usually starts in childhood or early adulthood. It is characterized by anxiety-provoking thoughts, images, or ideas (obsessions) and/or ritualistic behaviors such as counting, repeated checking, or handwashing (compulsions). People with OCD engage in compulsive behaviors to try to rid themselves of disturbing obsessive thoughts.

Here's my problem. I tried not to count the amount of steps it takes me to get to the kitchen and I couldn't do it. I already know it's 14. Every time I stop adding the steps it's very uncomfortable for me. OCD?

I've tried tricking my wife to come to my computer via the "left side"...

she could be at the kitchen table, which is in the dark in the picture, and it takes only 5 or 6 steps to get to my computer, but she ALWAYS walks around to the right side, even if it ad 15 more steps....

in the 6 years we've been in this house, I have failed to catch her going through the left side....

Did you ever ask her why she does that?

You'll have to consult your Physician or licensed practitioner for that diagnosis, sorry.
