^ I like that a lot.

The e46 m3 has always been my favorite. All black CSL with the cloth bucket seats.

The f30 interior also looks nice, though actually owning it a lot of the materials are sub par. There's the wind noise, thin glass, and about 12 death rattles. The interior quality is the worst thing about the car.

I like this, but, what's with that stupid divider piece on the already huge center stack? I would want to cut that thing off.

I guess if you always have a 5 year old in the passenger seat it serves a purpose. But seriously I want to get the angle grinder every time I see that.

The problem with the E46 is the interior trim plastics degraded and looked horrible after a few years. The design however was on point.

Now that i think of it, i don’t think I’ve owned an interior that looked truly exceptional. This one probably looks the best, but i don’t like it as much as the OP’s Exige.

+1

Favourite dashboard easily goes to my e91 (no i-drive)...that one long swooping line is beautiful! Shame it's ruined by terrible pedal offset (RHD), and the non-sport seats that I have. Also many buttons are difficult to distinguish with one hand while driving, and some things on the stalks (auto wipers especially) are obscured by the steering wheel. Still really really like my car, but the seating position and pedal offset are a huge niggle for me.

I think on the market right now, the 992 might be the best designed interior. It is so luxurious and screwed together so well. The Porsche cars also always feel like they were chiseled from one solid piece. No other car I’ve owned or been in exuded quality along with quality materials as well. Lamborghinis are always very nice looking as well. Really like the pilot themed approach.

A couple favorites that I have owned (still have the 991 CS).

The nicest car I've ever owned in any category is my e92M. So that's my answer here. Mine is a stripper car with ZCP, so it has speed cloth, no nav, and a manual. It's the perfect spec for me. Although it's not my dream car, it's been such a great experience to own. And yes, I dig the simplicity and functionality of the interior. It's not the prettiest, but it's unoffensive as well.

I've always strongly disliked the interior of the 3rd gen IS because the design is so immature and boy racer looking. It looks totally out of place in a luxury vehicle. The Germans are able to blend a sporty and luxurious design but Lexus just can't figure it out. There is no option for real leather either so the interior materials aren't much nicer than a Honda Accord.

I still have a soft spot for the 96 Prelude VTEC I owned. It was ahead of its time with the electro luminescent gauges, the seats were very supportive and it had a nice low driving position. Everybody who rode in it always had compliments on the dash. The interior materials aged very well.

So funny I was going to say the same thing in my original post! I had two 4th gen Prelude VTEC and absolutely loved the interior (especially for the time...everyone who came in my car thought it looked like a spaceship interior lol). Mine looked the same but had the black leather seats option. I had a 92 and a 94.

I remember those bolsters, so huge. And how low the seating position was. When I got my Exige it brought back memories of those Preludes.

Not mine, but my dad's Cadillac had the best interior of any recent cars that I've been in.

I'd say my F80 for the exact same reason. I have full leather which certainly ups the overall look and feel, but it is otherwise no frills.

If we're being nostalgic, I remember when my mom got a 1985 C4 Corvette and I thought the digital dashboard was next level futuristic.

It's a bit spartan compared to today's cars but my 04 Z4 is a very comfortable office. Excuse the milky pic.

90s Japanese cars had great interior material quality. Decades later and they've held up very well. My first car was a 15 yr old Camry and there wasn't a squeak or rattle in the cabin.

Meanwhile an E36 or E39...they just self-destruct.

I really loved the high quality, yet back to basics interior of my 135is. And at the same time it had many high tech features like adaptive headlights. Ergonomically, it fit me very well and was easy to drive for long distances.

I love the 991.2 911 and still used interiors in Porsche. In the 911, all the gauges fit within the view of the steering wheel. Not sure if anyone has noticed or has driven the 992 but once you get beyond the high tech screens, I noticed I can only see the middle three dials and the steering wheel blocks the view of the outlying two gauges unless you move your head. I also don’t like the piano black plastic which scratches and shows every imperfection. There is also a gap in the center console that is hard not to unsee once you discover it. The 992 is a magnificent performance car but Porsche is slightly off their game with that design IMO.

So back to the 991.2 which is similar to my Macan. I love the design, fit and finish. Where everything is going touch screen, it’s still very tactile. The first time you get in and see all the buttons, you’re almost overwhelmed, kind of like the new C8. But then you come to appreciate that everything is well within reach and easy to find, not buried in a menu somewhere. So while not the highest tech, I love it. Someone above said you couldn’t get the sporty trims unless you go GTS....that’s not true. You can add anything you want even on the lowest trim, for a price of course, and that’s one of the beauties of Porsche design. If you truly want a one of one vehicle, you can create it. In fact, once you get to the higher priced models, you will find that most used ones are highly personalized.

Latest gen Audi simply have the best interiors overall. A very nice mix of tech an analog, similar to Porsche in the sense they nailed the ergos. Which makes sense since they are part of the same company.

I also love the Alfa interiors but a bit too plasticity. They look great until you start interacting with them.

BMW F generation 6 series interior design is probably my favorite in terms of overall quality, feel of materials, layout/design, and practicality

The waterfall effect is simply stunning and when trimmed properly in Carbon Fiber, leather, and Alcantara, its heaven!

Nothing compares to it from Audi, Mercedes AMG GT 4 series and S class are also beautiful and I'd consider them better designed but nothing else from Benz
