it was hard for me to quit but for me the best method was when i got the flu and sore throat where i didnt crave for one and it gave me a few days head start to quit and it worked for me. the first couple weeks were the hardest and then it got easier for me

I drink.. but not daily .. not even weekly. If someone were an alcoholic, I would say the same thing. Don't get me wrong, I smoke a cig here and there. But by saying ' you only live once ' to justify smoking is rediculous and contradictory considering that saying means you value your time here.

Smoking will shorten your life. BTW I fucking hate people who just have to be standing at the entrance to public buildings so you get a nice whiff of their mutagen smoke on the way out.

Um...this is pretty obvious isn't it? Smoking = Carcinogens and loads of toxic shit going into your lungs/body.

Alcohol = not that big of a deal in the right portion, your liver will take care of it.

I've been smoking for nine years (and I'm 23... not good), and I must say, if you quit, never go back. I enjoy it still, I know it's bad, but I just haven't gotten around to quitting. Stress is a factor, and without knowing, I became extremely addicted. It's the withdrawal symptoms that are the worst.

There was a time, especially, in college, where I smoked a LOT. This past summer was bad too since I started work with others that smoke, so we take regular breaks. However, with the cold weather, and others being busy, I made sure that I cut down, which I did. I know it's not quitting, but it's still better than nothing. I cut down to 5 cigarettes a day. Hopefully, with some better self control, I can cut it down even more, eventually kicking the habit.

And on that note, I'm going out for a stoge. Marlboro Menthols... mmm.
