The alcantara sport seats are the best I have had in a car, however they are definitely not soft. Firm but comfortable…

Looking forward to seeing some pictures of the new M35, I think if you’re going petrol it’s the car to have especially as its fairly reasonably priced 👍

sounds like there's more to tell on this?

I also opted for the Alcantara m sport seats, so i'd definitely like to hear more.

I realize they're "sport" seats so they're probably some where in the middle of the road between what an X3 m40i seat vs the standard seats on the U11 X1.

Here is a calendar of milestone dates per "My BMW Garage" on my recent build. New model year production and/or models such as the U11 M35i could encounter additional holds at key milestones in the process.

06/21: Order received
06/26: Production scheduled
06/27: Production begins
07/06: Exterior assembly begins
07/07: Paint booth
07/10: Entering assembly line
07/10: Assembly in progress
07/11: Quality check
07/11: Final assembly
07/11: Ready for transport
07/11: Awaiting carrier assignment
07/12: Dispatched from factory
07/17: At the port
07/27: In transit on the Donington, which actually left Bremerhaven on 07/21, so there was a delay in status date change as others have noted in these forums
08/05: Ship arrived at the Port in Baltimore
08/21: Scheduled to be trucked to Spartanburg per BMW; they hold the cars at the port VPC so they don't arrive at Spartanburg until about two weeks before PCD date
08/23: Scheduled to arrive in Spartanburg per BMW
09/06: My Performance Center Delivery date in Spartanburg (first available date, they contacted me to schedule on 8/10)

Note: If you are in the eastern half of the US and your car is being delivered to your dealer, you can probably knock 2-3 weeks off this schedule versus doing the PCD experience.

Mine still shows in QC, curious as to how your build moved from QC to Ready for Transport in the same day.

Thanks for posting this! Question: is yours a MY’23 28i (and therefore this is intended to be illustrative)? Otherwise, really curious how you got a confirmed allocation in June? I was trying to stay on top of things, and my my allocation is July…

Unfortunately, BMW Canada does not offer KTNL interior for X1 28i, only for X1 35i as a no cost option.
I'm envious of our American and Euro friends who can order this option.

Yes, mine is a recently built 2023 28i. Timings should be illustrative except for PCD delivery at the end and any holds placed on the new 2024 model either at the factory or after arriving in the US.

After reading lots of similar posts from the last year, the biggest wildcard is the timing at the various ports.

For those who have ordered the M35i, could you please let me know the parts number of the mirror caps? (If it is listed on the order sheet/VIN check)

Thank you!

Looking forward to joining the X1M35i crew. Ordered ours last week and have a TPW of 38. This will join our garage that includes a ‘22 X3 M40 and a ‘23 M4 Convertible.

My X1M35i went to "Quality Check" on 8/10 and hasn't moved since. Have others experienced the same? Anybody know of the reason for the stall? Parts supply issues, maybe?

Mine has been stuck in QC for a little while now as well.

They may be holding so it releases closer to official launch date.

I pinged my rep to find out more

I worked for Ford for 30 years. It is common for new or refreshed models to have holds during the initial production runs. Could be an issue with a component or software that they are holding until a fix is ready, a missing part/chip, or awaiting some necessary regulatory approval (i.e. EPA testing and approval for US models). Sometimes it gets resolved quickly, sometimes thousands of cars get parked until it can be addressed.

Mine is in 'Production Begins' status since 8/10 and no update since.
I think either there is an issue in the system that updates the website or all production is paused for some reason.

I would call BMW of NA and see if they have an update on status. The web site can lag by days to weeks. They put barriers in the prompts to push you to use the website instead of speaking with a representative, but it’s not terribly difficult to get through.

Same since the 8th. A bit worrying to be in that status so long but since then, my production week has shown as a week 35, which is next week. So I’m waiting until then before becoming concerned.

Estimated production completion date of the 31st, though that seems optimistic.

How do you get those production week and estimated completion dates?

Call the BMW Genius line. Pain to get through the automated menus but when you finally get to someone they should be able to give you a production week and status at minimum.

Called genius today, they said my build is in final QC, next is to assign a carrier.

Said it’s about a 2 week lead time to have that assigned.

Didn’t ask what week build it is, was just glad it’s moving along
