Fake engine noise just doesn’t do it for me 🤷🏻‍♂️

Regardless of how well it grips in corners. They’re heavy and do perform well in that respect. I’ve driven multiple performance EVs (Taycan Turbo/P100D) and it’s just not the same to me.

Yes, I know half of you are gonna start quoting me and want to tell me all the reasons why EV is the future and who am I to tell people what an M car should be.

No, I don’t care, we can have different opinions. I really just don’t think they should consider these M cars. They’re a new class of BMW.
Ok gramps.

I've never "experienced" one, but I am EV-curious.

Less than the cost of a new motor in the current M3. Won’t have tk worry about that though. Out of warranty replacement rate of batteries in EVs and PHEVs sold since 2013 is less than 2%.

Reading is fundamental.

I’m just not liking what I’m seeing, admittedly which is very little, considering all the camo.

And all I’m saying is that they should keep this in line with the “i” series, like an “iM3” Instead of it actually being an M car that’s also completely electric when they have a different designation for they’re all electric non-M cars. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The reality is that a car is a car. Eventually, people like you will get old and live in a nursing home, and the current generation will only know EVs. Who knows, maybe when that generation gets old they’ll be saying, “back in my day, cars drove on the ground, not in the sky!” Or something to that effect. In other words, you’re thinking with your emotions rather than rationality. The world will move in, with or without you.

I’m happy they’re offering both versions for customers to choose.

That said My current manual ‘25 G82 is going to be my retirement car and eventually passed down to one of my kids when I’m too old / unable to drive a manual.

Hopefully BMW will be realistic with the weight and power as well as pricing for this EV.

I guess what's irritating people is it seems like it's only "moving on" or "moving differently" because of regulations rather than what's best or what people want.

LMAO Ya, good luck with that bud. Do you save the manual people out there in la la land ever hear the words you speak out into the world... ? A manual transmission quad motor EV... ? What's next... First you guys want an AWD G80 M3 with a manual (strange request to begin with if you ask me) & now this... Just let it go & give it a rest already. These ideal world purists type thoughts are pretty exhausted in the year 2025.

Back on topic though: Please don't mess this version of the M3 up BMW.

At one time “people” wanted to own slaves. Who says “people” are the best judge of what’s right or wrong? A government is merely an incentivization engine. One that is supposed to incentivize desirable behavior, and disincentivize undesirable behavior.

Zero interest in a lifeless EV that will tank in value and weigh 5,500lbs. Make a gas version and maybe I’ll buy.

Reading is fundamental.
Reading is fundamental, but comprehension is key. You’re throwing out a 2% replacement rate like it magically eliminates the issue of massive costs when batteries do fail. That 2% still represents thousands of people stuck with a repair bill that can rival the price of a new car. Stop cherry-picking stats to downplay legitimate concerns.
