None of the MB other than certain AMG have that fun factor BMW gives. Other than the SLR of course but I mean what car wouldn't give you that fun factor if it cost 500,000$

I didn't mention drag racing because drag racing german cars is like banging fat chicks on mopeds.

Merc vs. BMW
there's not much comparison to be had. these companies have a totally different approach to car building. if i wanted luxury i'd get a Merc. since i want sport i've got a BMW. i might consider an AMG Merc over a BMW for sport but then i'm paying 50% more for a comparable car. so really i'm back to BMW for sport. Merc has an incredible racing heritage too and both companies make awesome cars but i feel like BMW has a more youthful spirit than Merc. i agree with the person who said to get both! |

Stop fanboying guys.
No need to say which one is better. We all know they both are great automobile makers, one aim towards to luxury and power, the other aim towards to agility and spirit. MB does its best job in prime market by providing a seamless model line up packed with luxury and comfort, and feed "power and status symbol hungry people" with AMG. There's no doubt about them being #1 in that catagory under mass production companies. And BMW is more towards the younger people who can glorify its image by turning them into enthusiasts. There's no doubt BMW does its best by producing great luxury daily driver with most fun factors. And ///M delivers that sheer excitements regular models lack. There's no need for debate here, we just take the fruit we want more. If you like the sour, take the lemon, if you like the sweet, take the watermelon. The fact of the matter is, BMW made it's name selling small, quite nimble and relatively inexpensive cars. This philosophy will just not work when scaled up a segment or two. Quote:
I don't hold out any hope if their latest work is anything to go by: They already had a hatchback and then decided to draw up a bigger one, had a couple of beers while making our cars and decided to design a slightly smaller hatchback than the bigger one. Lovely.

This place is becoming a hondatech forum.... I strongly urge you to post up your credential to back this information. Plus, please list all super cars you have driven with pros and cons compare to the SLR. And please tell me about your thoughts on Z8. You think MB is dumb enough to throw $$$$$ to just create a "worst supercar ever made"? It doesn't mean it sucks just because you can't drive it. Funny shit. |

Now MB may have hit on something. The SLS is turning out to be a better car than I thought it would be. I was expecting more Mercedes form over function.
DCT setup, lighter than expected, well balanced chassis, gobs of power but not too over the top. Looks like a winner.
