Never posted back. AO are great. Strong well finished metal frame and glass nonpolarized lenses, good clarity and glare reduction especially with tinted windscreen. Plus temple blades are badass.

You can now buy the classic Vuarnet with Skilynx lenses again.

https://us.vuarnet.com/products/02?v...=5983518621725

I always wore them during my ski racing days, decades ago in Squaw Valley... but I remember complaining when they raised the price from $10 to $15. $240 seems insane.

I posted already on page 1, but thought I'd add another recommendation.

Ray-ban started offering Rx lenses in a TON of frame styles direct from their website. Just took my Rx numbers from a recent local eye exam, submitted them along with my insurance info while placing the order online, and that was it! New Ray-ban Rx sunglasses for $106. Didn't even have to leave the house. I had a non-Rx pair that I've had for years and loved the style and fit, so went online to buy another pair when I noticed the Rx option in the same style.

Can't beat driving with perfect vision while avoiding the agony of dealing with contact lenses!

Ray Ban RB3447, 48mm round lens (or more commonly 50mm), matte gold frames, G15 green glass. I use prescription lenses so I order the "Rx" version that comes without lenses which I have made to my spec unpolarized. Most retailers only stock this model with G15 polarized so you have to order the frames if you want unpolarized. Easy to find the frames on Amazon or eBay. Frames are available in several colors.

Anyone found the perfect pair of non-polarized glasses or a pair with the polarization rotated 90 degrees compared to every other pair that's out there?
I wear Maui Jims and have the same problem and it drives me insane!

Why doesn't BMW rotate the darn screen 90 degrees so the monitor scanning is vertical instead of horizontal.

Sorry, had to vent about this.

BTW, if you tilt your head one way or the other you can see the HUD. Not ideal but it works.

I am a big Maui Jim fan and I had to switch to cheaper RayBans just for driving, so I feel you. I wish I remember the details, but there was a discussion about how the HUD works and basically the angle of the windshied contributes to the effectiveness of the projection. Vertical scanning wouldn't work because of how the light bounces towards the driver.

Prada polarized sunglasses here.

The HUD is certainly dimmer but usable!

I use to be a huge RayBan fan in the past. Actually, the other week I was walking through a store looking for "cheaper" sunglasses for my son and I noticed that some were way less expensive upon looking closer I learned they were not polarized. At the time I was like WTF who would buy these...is this just a price thing...didn't know polarization negatively affected some people.

If you have a link about the vertical scanning, I would be interested in reading it.

Prizm lenses are available both polarized and non-polarized.

I'm petty happy with my Oakley polarized and non=polarized sunglasses (thought I don't have a HUD so I don't have that issue). You can get really good deals if you, or someone you know can qualify for Oakley Standard Issue ( oakleysi.com )

Maui Jim is polarized only. When I need to look at the HUDI just tilt my head a little. I keep a set of cheap non-polarized Oakleys in wife's 3GT with HUD.

Edit: Oakley Tinfoil carbon

First time I've come across this thread!

For the May 2016 Euro Delivery of my Sakhir Orange M4 I dug up an old pair of Serengeti Driver aviator-style non-polarized sunglasses that I had for over 30 years and wore those. I've been wearing Maui Jims for years, but they don't make non-polarized sunglasses, so I had to find something new. After re-delivery, I bought a pair of Ray-Ban New Wayfarer Flash with Orange Flash lenses (RB2132 622/69) to match the Sakhir Orange.

In July 2018 we did Euro Delivery again for my wife's Individual San Marino Blue M3 and she bought a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarer Liteforce with Blue Mirror lenses (RB4195 631855).

I bought another pair of New Wayfarer Flash with Blue Flash lenses (RB2132 622/17) to wear when I'm driving or riding in her car.

My first pair of Ray-Bans cost about 50% more than my Maui Jims, but I'm buying the MJs at Costco. Costco didn't carry the RBs that I wanted to I had to get the first pair from Sunglass Hut at full MSRP. Then I found a site that carries RBs at about 40% off. This is where I bought my wife's pair and my second pair: https://www.jomashop.com/ray-ban-rb2132-55-622-17.html.

Since I wear prescription glasses, my choices are more limited. I went with Cacoons in a couple of different colors for the changing light conditions. My polarized ones stay in my fishing bag and the non-polarized ones stay in the scoot. YMMV
