Anyone been following the doom & gloom "major indicators of a crash not seen since 2007-2008" and earlier 1900s severe crash times?

I've been following. I follow someone who seems to be predicting this. The question I have is whether this is being predicted based upon historical data (likely yes), and whether we are in a period that can't be represented by this data?

My reasoning. As the pandemic arrived we were headed towards a necessary pull back. The market crashed unexpectedly, and unrelated to a bubble. During the pandemic period companies had to restructure their operations. They've done so in a manner that has left some operating in a way that they will never return to a pre pandemic state. They won't be impacted as harshly with a continued pandemic or a similar event. This is to say they were forced to restructure operations to become as profitable as possible in a bleak environment. One could argue that this restructuring in good times would equate to higher profitability.

At the same time the markets are flooded with stimulus. This may have inadvertently smoothed out a market crash. A new generation of retail investors are now investing. A higher level of 401k utilization is in place. In other words we may be at the base or near the base of another upward run.

I have no clue. This is my unknowledgeable financial assessment. A crash could still be looming, but there is also a chance that the perfect storm occurred to mitigate a market crash. Thoughts?

Market correction will come. No one knows with precision when this will happen.

The market will go up in the long term.

Time in the market is your best friend.

I don’t “follow” much of anything but rather I read many things and formulate my own investing approach. I’m fully invested.

A market correction is bound to happen and it will likely be set off by China and their relentless and futile approach to COVID lockdowns. The Delta variant or another highly contagious variant is going to take hold there and their first approach will be to lock everything down. It's already happening in some of their ports and a number of their cities. Because so much manufacturing is in that country, the global supply chains will be wrecked once again until the Chinese government comes to their senses and realizes that lockdowns are not effective and that COVID is going to spread across that country no matter what you do.

^This. Time in the market and funneling as much as you can into the market with solid S&P 500 index funds, some bonds, and a few solid stocks is the path is the safest and most effective way to build a substantial nest egg. Sexy? Nope, but for the vast majority of investors, it's the most effective approach. Period.

Nope. I expect and am positioned for a bull market. A pull back may occur, but not a collapse

Stonks only go up!

Scalped some spy calls again
Bought in around 11am PST
Was aiming for 25% profit but got cold feet and lowered my sell price for 15%
About 2 minutes afterwards, spy shot up more than a dollar
I guess I should have looked away for a few minutes and left my original sell price alone

for those in crypto audio just partnered with tiktok causing the coin to skyrocket temporarily. Now would be the time to look into it before the news breaks to those not watching it.

For what it's worth, over a month ago this person called the exact start of the GME run up yesterday (08/24/21)

Might be worth a read.

it's nice that GME came back to the 200's in just 1 day
now the big question is where does it go from here

anyone in SPRT?
I sold too early this morning
and i really regret selling that $12 covered call ... severely limited my upside on 100 of the shares

bought in the low $4's. sold a $10 CC and then rolled it to a $12 CC as price climbed.
thought I was killing it with the juicy premium but didn't realize the stock was going to take off for the moon like this

sold my loose shares between $31 - $41 today
