Let's say you have 1000 to put to work, buy 500 or so now and wait on the remainder in case it dips again. The risk: it bounces back fast and you only put half to work. Then you sit and wait for the next one

Time in the market is more important than timing the market.

Buy now. So you miss a percent or two, who cares? You will be in it for the mid to long term. Right?

Flesh wound. The market has been fairly low vol lately so today was overdue. Take a look at the number swings >1% in either direction from Aug 2020 until April 2021. The water has been pretty calm lately so a few ripples don't mean much.

I love VTI, been adding it to it slowly for retirement.

Sold my 1600 shares of Lucid today, getting some dry powder ready for some market volatility in the next 12 months. Love them huge dips and panic selling..I get hungry

I added to my positions in VOO, VTI, QQQ, and SPY today.
VOO and SPY are similar, tracking SP500. SPY charge more MER. Which one is better?

good point. the expense ratio definitely favors voo. extremely minimal though - from the article i read assuming you have 100k invested in both for 30 years... SPY will end up costing you $2000 more in expenses.

looks like i'll just be adding to voo from here on out.

ETFs charge you money to manage your funds. You give them money, they move it around between different stocks as they see fit. adding, reducing, and closing positions through the year. This way you don't have to do the leg work.

vti/voo charge like 0.03% per year or something.
vt is 0.08
spy is 0.09
arkk is 0.75

Ah that makes sense. Thank you. Is that fraction of 1% or 3% expressed as decimal?

fraction of a percent. VOO will charge you $30 per year for every 100k you invest. SPY will charge you $90.

Just bought Energy Transfer, ET. Dividend 6.7%. Leon Cooperman owns this stock. He said the company has a lot of cash.

So many “cheap” stocks to buy. Which ones??

Put some money into VOO last week for long term.
