BMW sold 1,025 E61 M5s, however it was in production for exactly one extra year. If you count E55 and E63 wagon together, Mercedes built 2,169 of them between 2003 and 2009. Keep in mind though, Mercedes offered those wagons in the US, Canada and Australia while BMW did not. I gotta give props to Mercedes for having balls for selling such a low volume vehicle in markets like US and Canada. I mean in Canada they sold just 8 E55 wagons. Is it a true M5 with the proper MX91 type code in the VIN, or is it something like the E39 M5 Touring which is simply a 540iT with M5 bits swapped over? M5 touring would be amazing.
M5 GT...don't know about that one. The F07 5GT is such an awkward car inside and out. I don't really get the purpose of the GT models honestly. It's like you can't decide whether you want a sedan, SUV, or wagon, so you get something that's a little bit of all of those mashed together.

She just wants AWD. And we live in Dallas, where it rains like twice a year. the point being that BMW knows their stuff...the enthusiast doesn't make up enough of the market size to drive those decisions...so this is just part of the deal. I'm not excited about it either, but it is here to stay...

I don't know why BMW is developing more versions of the X4, is it really selling well?
Not were I live. Macans are selling much better. The problem I have with the X4 is the interiors, they look one generation older to me. Although unlikely, I always thought BMW was going to deeply update the interiors of the X4 on the second or third year of the generation. |

G01 X3 - start of production?
I apologize if this has been discussed but I searched and did not see the answer....
Will the new G01 X3 start production in April 2017, since the end of production on the current model is March 2017? And...does anyone know when dealers can start putting in customer orders? Thanks - |

Although the path taken with the 1M/M2 might be specific to the sports car segment only - since BMW likely makes significantly more profit per unit on the SUV M cars, perhaps there could be more options. And if they're still all produced in Spartanburg??

It wouldn't surprise me at all to see an X3/4M with the S55 engine from the M3/4, full leather option interiors, and unique seats. If the X3/4M seats and interior look ANYTHING like the X5/6M seats and interior, take my money now. |

I really like the F8x seats and would personally put them far above the e9x seats lol. Shows how we all have varying opinions. |

I find that they are just too hard, with very thin cushions and with no adjustable under thigh support etc., I just didn't find them very comfortable. Main reason I didn't buy one recently. The multi-function seats in the M5 however......... Shame one of those is way above my budget - even with a nice discount....then there's the running costs! Also recently sat in a new Volvo XC90 R-design - oh my, the seats in that are just fabulous, and reminded me of how good the Swedes are at seat design. The seat comfort is the main thing I miss about all the past Saab's I have owned.

There are conflicting reports on this. Your CA is working off a document that does indeed list 428i and 435i for MY2017. That document appears official, and usually we would take it as the true word of BMW NA. However, the same document makes no mention of F34 LCI, which is definitely coming in July as 330ix and 340ix, nor of M760i and 740e, which we know are also coming soon.

And one more thing: the same document lists F30 328i continuing into the next model year, while there's definitely 330i coming. The evidence of that is pretty strong: the US 330i cars that will be used for PR are already in the build queue.
The improvements of MY2017 F30, besides the B46 engine, will include (I'm reiterating some things, so don't tell me it's not news, I know): - wifi hotspot - Apple CarPlay preparation - wireless charging for smartphones - LCNL leather interior option (black with blue stitching, M Sport specific). |

Those are the across the board updates. They belong to the class of hardware that doesn't depend on LCI cycles, same way the new climate control module with white digits went into all F2x and F3x mid-2015 or Headunit High 2 was introduced in F23 in March 2015 and then went into F22 and all F3x in July.
