When I was in the Army we used to talk about looking forward to having a variety of clothes to choose to wear each day…until I got out of the Army and had to worry about choosing what clothes to wear each day!! You don’t know what you have until you lose it! I still miss just throwing on that uniform! Of course, even with BDUs, putting on that uniform every day makes you feel kind of special!! Hooah!!

when I go riding, I always feel like a 10-year-old again.(the age when my favourite uncle taught me to ride horses AND motorcycles)

or when I'm with my high school friends during reunions. I always feel like a kid again.(feel and act like one) I just hope I'll get to go to my 70-year high school reunion. When my grandfather went to his 70-year high school reunion, we had to bail him out from the local city jail. He and his high school buddies were detained by the cops for disorderly conduct, drunk in public, as well as destruction of school property.(they went back to their old high school and painted graffiti) A couple of weeks later, the judge tossed the cases against them. Probably because locking up 97-year-olds was not something they wanted to do? Unfortunately, just a year later, he passed away.

Sorry about your grandfather but he had a long life and it sounds like he had some fun along the way.

I only wish if I live to be 95 or 100, I'm healthy enough to go rob a bank or something. (without hurting anybody, of course) Yes, I know it's a weird thing to have on my bucket list. Come to think of it, I hope there are still banks manned by real humans by the time I'm that old. when I was a little kid a LONG time ago, one of my stupid dreams was to rob or steal from an actual travel agency.... take all of their blank paper airline tickets and write my own destinations. Unfortunately, physical travel agencies and paper airline tickets are long gone.

I admit I am not a fan of beards. In my opinion, very few men look really good with a beard. You have to have really strong facial features and basically you need to be the definition of tall, dark, and handsome. Most men with beards just look scraggly. Of course, I’m also big on short haircuts. I grew up in an Air Force base town and even before I joined the Army folks used to ask me if I was in the Air Force. In my view a clean, short haircut and a clean shaven face will take you from a four to at least a seven just like that!!
I have a goatee and mustache. I went clean shaven once a few years back and the very first thing Wifey said to me when she saw me with no fuzzy face was, "Start growing it back right away." So I obeyed.

My hair is very short. Buzz cut, TBH. When it gets longer than 1/4" or so, it's time to buzz it again.

I haven't seen my face since 1979 (LJ was not even born back then)...

10 years ago, on an one month deployment in the UK, I almost shave it of but chicken out

Cut my beard off when my daughter was about 2yo and when she saw me she started crying. Grew it back right away and kept it until I was in my 50s.

PS - wife didn't mind either way.

I have a full beard right now... think ZZ Top. Over the years my beard and hair have come and gone but my moustache has been permanent except for the one time I shaved it off when I was 19. I immediately started growing it again. I don't see me ever shaving it off. The beard however has nearly succumbed to the blade a few times over the past year or so.

I stayed clean-shaven until quite recently -- I call my goatee a "COVID goatee".

I grew a beard when I had mandatory quarantine for ten-days the first time I got Covid maybe three-years ago. The youngest guy at work told me it made me look ten-years younger. I retired last month and one of the first things I did was to shave it all off. About three-weeks into retirement I stopped back in at the store and the same guy told me I now looked ten-years younger . . . again!

Best way I've found to add twenty-years to my life!

Now put some Just for Men in your hair and you’ll get another ten or twenty years!!

My 1st radio was a crystal set. It was a kit and dad helped me build it. I still have it.

Oh yeah, I had save to buy it. 25 cents a week for mowing the lawn, emptying the trash and washing the evening dishes. This is why I still have my 1st model airplane engine. At 25 cents a week, it took a while to save up $8.00.

That commercial aired in 1956 not 1856. Really, really old? Careful dearie, some of the truly Old Farts around here might take umbrage. Now that's a really old term (Google that).
