I don't think you will see any big difference either way. Also the gap between the front strut and the tire is very tight, so personally I would not put anything wider than 8.5" rims or 245mm tires. If you want to improve the traction, I suggest you to ditch the OE summer or all seasons tires and upgrade to something nicer.

in many situations, amber/orange LED DRL(or even halogen DRL) is a lot more noticeable than white. unfortunately, most manufacturers choose white LED because most people think white LEDs look cool.

Tire rack is a good starting point, decent prices, supposedly will make sure the wheel/tire combo fits your car. I did wheels and tires for my Acura TSX back in the day even did the TPMS and it was fine. YMMV

good luck

22’s with 9.5”! Dang those are sweet. How’s the width of them feel?
Share a picture looking down the side of the car so we can see how the offset with 9.5 sticks out.
Thanks.

Hi This is not my car .I found these pictures while searching for wheels on eBay

I think this is the angle that you’re asking for . Since the u11 is much wider than the previous generation ,it can easily fit 9.5 front and 10s rear When Choose the correct offset.

255/45/19 tire is not a recommended tire size for the X1. It is 713mm in diameter, factory recommendation is 704mm. There is a risk of the TPMS system giving an error, and your speedometer will read slightly off. I am running a 245/45/19 on my wheels.

I believe that is the ix1 (electric) running 22 x 9.5, was wondering any X1 U11 running a staggered setup?

It’s not the iX1. It’s the plug in hybrid.

The iX1 is not compatible with anything larger than 20”. BMW doesn’t even allow you to purchase their X1 21” wheels for the iX1. This is apparently due to the weight and lowered ride height of the iX1

If you're going to run a staggered setup on xDrive, you have to be very careful with tire sizes. Front and rear diameters have to be within 1% of each other to not mess with the xDrive system.

Thanks for the info, am thinking 245/45/19 (front) and 275/40/19 (rear), anyone with this setup?

Have you checked how the 275 will look like on the X1? I think it’ll be poking out by at least 2cm.

It will not poke out if you are running 9 inch or 9.5 inch with the correct offset for the rear.

I wasn't able to pick up my wife's new M35i today due to potential integrated breaking system fault recall next week, but I did manage to take pictures of the aftermarket wheels I got them to mount on the car before dleivery.

They are U11 M35i certified gloss black Brock B41 8,5x21" with 245/35 all around. The wheel size is perfect for the car, I personally love the way they look.

I will take some better photos and post some thoughts on how it drives once we actually get hold of the car. I daily drive my X6M LCI (21"/22") and find it relatively soft, I doubt this 21" setup will be too hard on the X1, but let's see.

Wheels look awesome!! Congrats! Once you get the chance to drive it, I’d love to know what you think of the ride quality on the 21”.

Re the X6M feeling soft on the staggered 21/22 setup, don’t forget that the suspension on that car is significantly better than on the X1.

Btw, is your car parked at BMW dealership in Rautenweg? The garage looks very familiar!

Haha yes, it's the BMW Wien Donaustad in the 22nd district.
