eh, i saw that, but that still did not make much sense.

i guess its possible that trinity went to dexter's house without a car, killed rita and then went to get his mustang, while dexter found the mustang, removed the oil cap and hid inside the trunk and then waited for the car to blow up. in this case dexter ended up in a middle of nowhere without a car and no way to transport "sleeping" trinity back to the house where he killed him. unless he waited for trinity outside the shop and followed him for miles and miles.. but this still does not make sense....

i dont know, i dont think this ending was very well thought through by the producers. unless that was their intention to make the ending that will just confuse a bunch of people.

OK, one last question. Dexter's baby - when he found him, he said "born in blood" like I've heard him say before when referring to his past.

Was it just a coincidence that the baby was in the blood, or do you think that the baby was put there on purpose? Looked to be there on purpose to me.

Maybe Trinity found out that detail about Dexter's past somehow, or it was someone else who knows about his past?

^ He was put there on purpose for sure. Trinity must have found out about Dexters past, and in turn, by him doing that it will link Dexter and Trinity together forever (at least in Dexters mind). What will be interesting is if Deb finds out about dexters son being left in the blood, will she link that with Dexter because now she knows about Dexters past?
