Looks good. What paint finish is that? Looks like a semi-gloss or eggshell rather than flat (or maybe it's just the light reflection)?
It was nano white in a satin enamel. The lights kind of make the walls have a little more shine.

Honestly there is no need at the moment, but I am slowly prepping my apartment to be rented out as well as the garage unit. Figured I'd clean up the floor a little to make it attractive to prospective buyers. 9/10 won't care most likely but I have the time now to tackle these projects. secondary reason - dusting. swisstrax helps a lot but still lots o concrete dust.

I just had a 14' x 27' stamped concrete patio installed. It replaces a deck I tore out. It's now time to repair the lawn they destroyed.

Have always felt I could live in a small european community, semi rural. Housing prices are very reasonable and because you don't really do suburbs over there, it seems more relaxed than here.

Not much of a project, but we just got a fun piece of decor delivered and had to hang it immediately.

I don't think indoor neon (in this case, LED) was much of a design element in mid century modern, but we don't care. We love it.

Need to figure something out with that cord, though...

I think the only thing you can do with the cord is run it behind the drywall.

Not sure about your price statement. I built this house ten years ago for $1.1M and could sell it now for at least $1.6M.
Prices for land, especially larger ones like mine, were exploding here. This wont change bc of the fact, that this is a small country and therefore cities and villages stopped zoning land for houses.

Spent some time knocking some projects out in some free time over the past couple weekends.

Pressure washed about 5000 sq ft of driveway and sidewalk; hand cut about 200-250 linear feet to edge in the beds around the oaks in the front yard as well as a ton of weeding; pine straw in the beds; cleaned all the windows inside and out; made a bunch of shelves in the closets to organize; made some shelves and a crib for the incoming bambino... Oh and I put up my flag!

Up next is to clear about 1/10th acre of brush and install a fence myself for the backyard. But first, a mow. Sorry for the shaggy grass in the picture; it’s usually at 3” and tight, but we’ve had a lot of rain and I’ve had some super long weeks. To be continued!

I would leave as is but if you want it to be more attractive, I would use a garage sealer (simple and cost efficient).

Yeah, a lot of folks in the MCM community have a love/hate relationship with Mad Men. It is often credited with the resurgence in popularity of mid century modern homes, furniture, etc. As we all know, increased popularity = increased demand = increased prices.

If you want to have your socks really blown off - Google Scott Gillen's "Case" houses in Malibu. I think one of them is for sale for $100M. 10K+ sq/ft MCM-style home on 3-ish acres?

Those Live Oaks are awesome! I like the house, too. Craftsman is our 2nd favorite architectural style (because Usonian/Modern Prairie isn't really it's own style).

Dude, I won't even show you my lawn right now. I've got some grass thats standing over a foot from all this rain, since I haven't been able to mow in 2 weeks. Yard is looking great though!

Was just scrolling through and saw your renovations. Wow, what a stunning house. Well above my pay grade, but certainly my kind of style. Truly beautiful

As for me, I live in ranch style house that was built in the 70s. Some parts of the house were already updated (nothing crazy) while other parts need to be update. I want to learn as much as I can over the years, and this thread definitely serves as a motivation. Since I'm single and live there alone, I'm never in a giant rush and just do bit by bit.

Don't have any pictures from inside the house, it is truly nothing special. But the previous owner built a detached 4 bay garage that's 24x44. No power, so it's essentially just a giant basic shed. I like to browse GarageJournal, and mine is nothing compared to some of those buildings. But I started painting the walls a few months ago, but have not done any progress at all:

Thanks! We love the trees - hate the amount of work it takes to keep the yard fresh with what it drops

And if it were my call, we'd be in a MCM. Wife isn't the biggest fan, so we compromised and got what she wanted

I'd be going up the walls. I actually like doing yardwork. It's not a keeping up with the Joneses deal; I just like my nice things to be nice, but to have enjoyment while doing it is a birds and stone gig.

Yea - not as easy to find steals on craigslist anymore, haha.

That house is amazing! Wow! My only issue is why enclose the entire shower with glass? Seems like one can open up a couple of those glass panels and be fine. $100mm? Funny that I couldn't even afford the maintenance each year let alone the property tax! So even if he gave it to me, I couldn't keep it haha.

Would love to see the receipt for how much that furniture cost! I bet that main couch is at least $25k.

Oaks are really nice! There are a couple communities in LA that have oaks on a DO NOT TOUCH list. So no matter what you do to the yard, you cannot touch or take out the oak trees.

I love MCM as well. My house is a hodge podge of different stuff. The outside is definitely not, haha. The MCM houses in Orange County are rare. There are some but then the price for the area isn't of interest to me.
