I had a rude awakening today. The kid across the street hit a tennis ball into my yard. I picked it up and tried to throw it back into his yard and it barely cleared the street. It's like the muscle memory for throwing a ball is just gone. Gawd, I'm getting old.

I used to coach my son in little league and during practice with the team I would pitch buckets of balls to the kids during batting practice and I was spot on with my pitching, but after many years of NOT throwing a ball then trying to throw the wiffle ball, well, the ball did not go where I aimed it. Thankfully it was a wiffle ball and not a hard ball because it would have broken a car window. lol |

Then again, with my depth perception problems, maybe that's not a good idea.

I remember when milk was produced locally and delivered in glass bottles door to door in those old white carts like golf carts in our neighborhood instead of us having to get them from the grocers, not sure if anyone else remember those or recall them.

town and of course, we subscribed. Mom would set out the empty bottles the night before and miraculously, they were full the next morning. Our particular dairy did not homogenize their milk, so we had to shake the bottle before use. I can still hear the bottles jingling in the wire carrier at O-dark-30.

Back in the 70s my dad used to play tapes with compilations of his favorite 60s music inside the car. Beatles, Elvis, etc. He knew virtually all the English lyrics - we didn't understand the language, had no clue. So we asked what the songs were about and could "la-la-la" most of them. This was one of those songs. If we wanted to hear some song again, he usually flipped over the tape to play a song on the other tape side and subsequently flipped it again to hear the initial song again for a sing-along.
