It's not for comfort reasons that i'm not a fan. It's that there is no solid connection between the holster and my clothing, specifically something sturdy like a hearty belt. On the Safari Land holster i have, when using the paddle attachment, if i don't get the release clicked prior to pulling on it, i end up just pulling the whole gun and holster off of my pants.

On the open cary, i don't disagree with Slick Willy. But you're a big girl and you're going to do what you want to do. You need to very aware of your surroundings when open carrying. Walk with confidence and don't look like an easy target. Just having a gun on your hip isn't a deterrent to someone determined rob someone and as Willy said, it can make you a target of opportunity. Not so much to do bodily harm, but to steal your weapon thus allowing them fulfill their nefarious plans.

I am scheduled for a class that's 11-8pm next Saturday I am excited to learn and to always continue to learn.

I've been riding horses 19 years. I STILL take lessons every Sunday. Why? I am classified as an "expert" however, I feel, even the best can always learn and continue to learn.

See mine is the opposite. I posted my model number. In fact I'm actually worried it's going to rip my designer clothing. It has latch on the inside that grips your pants, skirt, whatever, and it's a bitch to take off. I thought it snagged my pants yesterday and I was pissed lol. It's like a upside down looking clip that grabs hold of your clothing and doesn't fucking let go.

Yeah, i have one as well. I suppose i may be pulling with more force but it slips right past my belt which is designed to support all manner of holsters. Everyone is different and prefers different holsters. You got to use what works for you. Bare in mind that i've been carrying since 1994 and currently own 12 different holsters and over my carrying time, have bought and sold probably another 10 to 12.

Things tend to change as your skills progress and you start putting theoretical carrying in to practice. Be open to change and don't stick with something because you don't want to go through the process of trying something different. I mean, i've changed 4 holsters in the past 2 years. I can easily see you having 10 or so holsters to go with different outfits. More shopping!

These things are all better learned with live instructors but these video tips are solid and things you can practice at home. With an UNLOADED pistol. I know you're serous about safety, but you can't be too safe.

Stance.

Grip.

Dominant eye.

Sight picture.

Dry Firing.

Not sure what the laws are in NC but in Louisiana is a $500 fine and or 6 months jail time. So I WILL Never disguise this without a permit. Non negotiable. The only option I have is to open carry or go without protection and not carry. There is no disguising option for me at this point.
Wow. Its the opposite here in Florida. You can't carry at all without a conceal carry permit, and even then, no open carry. Scares the tourists. I cc at 4 pm position inside the pants holster or pocket holster.

I looked up the ammo laws for you. Only restrictions are on armor piercing. So id use hornady critical defense hollow tips for carry. Maybe stagger then with full metal jacket which is what i do. Hollow tips hsve more stopping power. Fmj have more penetration. If you do have to fire, two aimed shots center of mass. Then reassess. I have the smaller safe for next to the bed. Big fire safe for the long guns. Until you decide to add, that should be fine.

William, did you get my snap chat I sent you. I went downtown at 11 pm to meet some guy friends at a bar and with 30 seconds of walking out of the garage I get hollared at. I ignored the guy and keep walking and then he screamed at me "HEY GIRL" like how Michael Jackson screams "hey" in the way you make me feel music video. I felt soooo uncomfortable thank god 10 seconds later my guy friend came around the corner and escorted me to the bar. See why I feel the need to carry? (Note I wasn't carrying last night because you can't bring a gun to a bar here)

Have not seen it yet, been cleaning up the house and packing the car so I can hit the road tomorrow morning. I don't disagree with your decision to carry, I only disagree with OC.

If you're concealed, nobody will know any different. I can or can not say that some people carry in bars still, you'd just never know. Now they are one step ahead of a threat that might otherwise go into said bar thinking their potential victims are unarmed. Hell even just walking the street to your car, if you aren't paying attention someone could try to sneak up behind you and access your gun.

You never know, but just my two cents on CC and OC.
