Thank you. It wasn't really a choice but it was a great deal. It has only 4100km (about 2500 miles) and it's Jan 2024 - price was also good for this car and 3 warranty.

Picked up my X2 M35i Wednesday last week, and it has been at the detailers getting XPEL shadow PPF all this week (not got it back yet)

Anyway, thought I'd share some photos

At Detailers after getting Decom wash and polish prior to PPF going on


Bonnet done

Left side



Still has to have Front bumper, roof, rear, in XPEL Stealth and all the black gloss bits in XPEL Ultimate gloss, so waiting patiently to get it back.

I justified it by thinking, if I were to get the Matte paint, I would need to PPF it anyway, as it’s a nightmare to fix if you get scratches or stone chips. So if I got the metallic and ppf that with stealth I am “saving” the price of the Matte paint from the cost of PPF’ing it

I know it’s some weird man maths but made sense to me…..

A little late, but to summarize: there are two Individual visualizer sites - one for all BMW and one for just BMW M (which includes "m light"). Since it's an M35i, there are more colors available. It was a little bit of a challenge getting it ordered, but eventually they figured it out.

FWIW: I originally requested Thundernight Metallic to match my M240i, but BMW denied that request. 🤷*♂️ This is really similar; just a little more blue and I think has a little more metallic sheen.

While I like the color on its own and I acknowledge that it fits into the fad of having an Easter egg pastel color, I personally don't feel this color suits the X2. It looks... forced.
