I don't smoke. I will never smoke. I can't see why anyone would want to smoke.

Less time on this earth / Worse quality of life / Not good for you.

of course you wouldnt know why anyone smokes, how could you?

some people cant help it. for some, all it takes is a few cigarettes for the habit to form. i dont want to smoke and im well aware of the consequences, but it really isnt as simple as just saying im done. even different treatments dont necessarily help. for some people, the actual process of quitting is very difficult. they cant concentrate, sleep, perform daily tasks, etc. its like a mannerism that is psychologically and physically difficult to stop. for me, it isnt only the nicotine thats addicting. its the entire action of smoking that has me hooked.

Well said, he speaks the truth! on the contrary for some it is as easy as not picking up a new pack after they just finished their last one.. think of it like speeding for example... our cars are pretty fast, even the 325i, 328i isnt "slow", when we speed we endanger others lives, endanger our lives and waste gas, etc... for some, it may be easy to keep a light foot, for others they just cant get rid of that iron foot... People who smoke, always say that "I dont understand why they cant just break the habit", but do they know what its like? have you ever seen an hardcore alcoholic? same concept, they cant do anything without getting drunk. They eat their cereal with whiskey

Well those things (minus drugs/alcohol) are not as bad for you as smoking.

I'm not trying to say they are good either. I don't drink coffee, energy drinks, soda, nor alcohol...and I don't take drugs.

Addicting = bad. Yes you could argue weed, cigars/cigarillos, and alch is addicting, but I'm pretty sure there are a lot more people addicted to cigs then to alch in the world.

i dont understand why everyone thinks smoking is the absolute worse thing in the world for you. the mother of a good family friend of mine has been smoking roughly two packs (40 cigarettes) a day - shes 83 and still going strong. on the other hand, my good friend knew someone who died because they went to a party and drank too much then got in his car and drove off a cliff. he was only 19 years old. also, a few years ago, a girl at my old high school overdosed on cocaine at the age of 16. cigarettes are bad, theres not doubt about that, but i dont understand why people condemn it and those who smoke so brashly. alcoholics and drug abusers a good amount of sympathy - 'oh they need help, they need an intervention, lets get them to rehab to help them out' why are smokers so looked down upon? are we not deserving of the same compassion? we face a hard addiction as well as potential life threatening diseases also.

a pack of cigs in NY is like $8 a pack. near my house it's 6__ to 7 a pack so at a pack a day you are spending about 180 a month. with 180 bucks you can buy a half of good herb or maybe a little less and you should still have some leftover if you conserve your bud and it's really good. I feel sick now from smoking cigs the withdrawal sucks

Because it affects everyone in the room, not just yourself.

Have you ever thought about the hundreds of dress shirts that you have blown your shitsmoke all over, and forced the owners to dry clean them because they smell like my taint after a 2 hour run?

Every time I go to a bar, I have to either wash the clothes or have them dry cleaned. And no, I'm not going to avoid bars altogether or alter my lifestyle.

Is it really that complicated?

Lol who gives a damn if there are a few people who are still alive after smoking forever. It doesn't make cigs any better for you. And lmao at those n00bs who killed themselves...that's Darwin for ya.

hmm, i never said since shes still old and still alive that cigarettes are any better for you. im just saying that yes, cigarettes are bad, but they dont produce drunk drivers or coke heads. sounds to me that you have a strong distaste for anyone who ingests anything that doesnt grow out of the ground. more power to you for living the SXE lifestyle, but try to practice humility in your posts. you arent high and mighty because youve resisted intoxicants. and to 'lmao' at the death of a young person for making bad decisions is just disrespectful. sure, they were the cause of their own demise, but to find amusement at the fact that someones child is dead is absolutely terrible.

The biggest difference is I don't have to inhale other peoples coffee, energy drinks, drugs, soda, alcohol etc.

I've even smelled cigarette smoke from cars in front of me on the road. (This is the exception).

There are folks that never wear seat belts and still live to a ripe old age, however their choice to not wear seat belts changes the odds of growing old. Smoking does the same thing.
