Hey Llarry

How do you like your Macan GTS? I am thinking to get either a Macan S, GTS, or Panamera S, GTS here soon. I know they are both very different driving experiences, but the Macan looks appealing to me for some reason.

10 out of 10! Fantastic vehicle! Note that Porsche discontinued the Turbo model with 434 hp after we bought our '21 GTS with 375 hp. The current GTS is the top of the line with that 400+ hp engine. If ours were to be totaled or stolen, I think I'd try to order a Macan S.

One caution, though: Back seat room is minimal; I'd swear my M3 has a roomier back seat than my Macan. A long journey with four adults would be a stretch for either vehicle. A BMW 5 series or X5 is a more reasonable choice if you frequently have rear seat passengers.

The other downside is what we call the "Porsche tax"; option prices are ridiculous, as is dealership service cost. Bring money.

I couldn't find any photos of it (ours was kinda orange and not very pretty) so this photo was pilfered from the web thingy.

Based on stories I've heard it would not surprise me if they were dumped in the ocean.

I had a relative that served in WWII in Asia Pacific. He said after they won the war and were enroute back to the US on the ship, they were ordered to literally dump tons of weapons into the sea. Perfect 45’s, machine guns etc.

When I was stationed on Okinawa I got my SCUBA certification. There were countless military artifacts to explore in the water there.

My Dad was in a Navy F8F Bearcat squadron that was on Saipan for several months in between aircraft carriers. The F8F was fairly new (this was 1946) and there was a critical shortage of tailwheel tires. As it happened, he related, the Eastern FM Wildcat used the very same tailwheel tire and there were dozens or hundreds of Wildcats on Saipan that had already been withdrawn from service. He went to the guy in charge of the junk pile and pled his case for some of those tires. The answer was no -- the aircraft were dumped in the ocean off Saipan from barges and had to be dumped with all components intact. Talk about stupid blind adherence to regulations!

Agree on the size. X3 all variants have more rear seat space than Macan.

The EA839 2.9TTV6 is a sweet engine in the Macan GTS.

From 1921 to 1931, Rolls-Royce operated a U.S. factory in Springfield, Massachusetts, and produced almost 3,000 cars, including 1,700+ Silver Ghost models and almost 1,250 Phantom Is.

The first photo is of a Springfield Silver Ghost, while the other two are of Springfield Phantom I cars.
