I just returned from the Porsche dealer. I test drove both a base Macan and an S version.
First the base - really this is a well designed and fun vehicle. it is the right size for me and it gives amazing confidence driving it. Very solid and very balanced. I could definitely be happy owning one of these. Now the S - screw the base HECK YEAH. Same car but way bettah. Pretty sure I will own one of these in the next few weeks. Just waiting for the test drive to wear off and decide which one they have to ask for a price on. Compared to the GLC and X3 the Macan is a sports car versus sedans. Night and day. Yup, more expensive but it is the superior vehicle IMO. |

Looks great! I have owned 3 Macans (two S’ and one GTS) and likely to buy another - a GTS or turbo.
I’ve also owned two GLC63S AMG Coule Edition1 1’s. If anyone needs a superb discount on a Porsche of any kind, I am happy to share my contact (he’s in PA). You will not find a better price. Last edited by Funf6cyl; 05-17-2020 at 06:31 PM.. |

The GLC63S coupe was a beast. Lots of torque, gobs of power and felt special with the AMG buckets. It rode pretty harshly, and felt like a big car.
The Macan GTS was like a 911 on stilts - the handling and feel was just on point. It’s engine and exhaust note were great, albeit different than the AMG. The steering was fantastic, ride was superb, and quality was a notch above. Both really great cars, but I’d buy the GTS 9 times out of 10. |

I expect to go off the lot. I am now trying to decide if I am willing to own a black car. The one(s) with all the options and interior I want both come in black. And it is a beautiful metallic black also. Have to decide if I'm willing to wash a car more often than once a decade. I'm sleeping on it and awaiting his next email. The salesman is a pro and I know I'll get a follow up email in a few days. When he does I'll see what price they can do as I'll know if I'm willing to live in a black car by then. MSRP is right around $77K and based on what I'm reading hearing a reasonable price is about $71.5K. Guessing if I wake up ready to deal with a black car and they do that price I'm in a new car before next weekend and returning my leased BMW early. Weird the 1.9% interest rate is only for base unit Porsche. Not for the S class. Might just buy it. I am sitting out of the stock market and what the hell. |
