It seems to me that the latest software update changed little if anything on idrive 8.

I think BMW pretty much abandoned those of us who bought the first batch of X1 in 2023. It's not even two years old and the car already feels outdated.

I almost ordered a 2023 but decided to wait a few months when ID9 was announced. Glad I didn't listen to some of the advice to not wait for the MY24 model.

I needed a replacement car at that time, so I had no choice but to order it back in 2022. having said that, I'm actually very happy with the car. I only dislike two things about it: having a spare instead of a mobility kit, no illuminated grill

I really don’t understand BMWs strategy here. It’s like they’re trying to figure out how to annoy as much of us as possible.

They’ve even split feature availability between iDrive 9 users: remote parking on iDrive 9 BUT ONLY if your car was built from 04/2024 onwards.

I am more than happy with ID8.
It works and is relatively stable.
I would like it to stay that way.

I don't want them constantly updating things with beta software.

Tesla do it and end up annoying users.

Worst I have experienced personally is Sonos.
Unfortunately, I am heavily invested in it and when they update the app it just gets worse and worse.
Effectively, recently making it not fit for purpose for me personally.
It was great 5 years ago and now it's garbage.

I don't have it with my 2024/02 iDrive9. However my Premium Subscription is in "Activating..." state, even though I have already driven around 10h after the update. It might be stuck. 30 second reboots doesn't seem to affect it.

I also don't have the Silent Mode either.

Spotify started working again 2 days after the update.

Mine was built on 06/2024, I have digital premium and 360 degrees cameras, but I don’t see the option to buy the remote parking assistant. So, I can assume that feature is only available for PHEV and EV cars. Mine is ICE.

You need to have parking assistant plus and comfort access as minimum requirements to get the remote parking option

Mine was built in 04/2024 and is FULLY loaded, EVEN including the Trailer Hitch (towing package). After the software update to 07/2024, I still do NOT see the option to purchase either the Terrain View or Parking Assistant Pro here in the USA either.

I can confirm that. sDrive 20i and with the latest update I installed Parking Assistant Pro. Manufactured on 05/2024. I already had Parking Assistant Plus and comfort access.

After downloading the update for my m35, the gas indicator has somehow increased from a 260 mi max to a 350 mi max. Don’t understand how this is possible, or if bmw just threw the code in every bmw and didn’t fine tune it to what the x1 tops off at.
