My 2007 e93 335i had it. It is extremely nice in parking lots, good on freeways, and okay on backroads. I wouldn't order it if I had the choice again. It also makes alignments significantly more expensive and more difficult to get done at non-BMW centers.

It's my wife's DD so I'm glad we have it - she always complains about the heavy steering in my 3 series but has never been bothered by the X5 (and I read comments on this forum about the heavy steering in the X5). Parking lots, maneuvering, slow speed driving situations - it's easy to drive. With that said, I don't have much seat time in an X5 w/o Active Steering to compare. |

Tell me more about the alignment. I have AS and it's kinda light at high speeds like Servotronic wasn't working or something.
